When potholes fill your path,
with their groves and ruts
and you feel that with each divot
you’re being hit right in the guts.
Take the time and slow down,
for God promises to lead us
and make our path a straight one
if over the bumps in Him we trust.
When chuckholes out number,
the smooth and even road
and the more of them you see
the heavier seems your load.
Know that God will guide you,
through and around each one
so just keep your eyes on
how the faithful race is won.
When the road ahead is bumpy,
and the going is jarring . . .
know that God is in control
if you let Him do the steering!
~~~~~~~~
The way of the just
is uprightness:
thou, most upright,
dost weigh the path
of the just.
