Sometimes my prayers,
are really pretty simple . . .
for what I have to say
takes a word single.
Help,
is all my spirit can express
for I know God knows
the true depth of my distress.
Sometimes my prayers,
run really pretty deep
for what is on my heart
reduces me to weep.
I pour out to the Lord,
my worry and my care
and not a single word
do I reserve or spare.
Prayer doesn’t have to be,
too simple or too deep
for God hears no matter
how many words we speak!
~~~~~~~
Likewise the Spirit also
helpeth our infirmities:
for we know not what
we should pray for as
we ought: but the Spirit
itself maketh intercession
for us with groanings
which cannot be uttered.
The righteous cry,
and the Lord heareth,
and delivereth them
out of all their troubles.
I say a lot of prayers all through the day and I keep them simple just as my faith is 🙂
You sound like me. I do the same. When I am alone I pray out loud. He is always with us. That is so wonderful. A prayer Warrior indeed. Love and thank you for your prayers for me. ❤️🤗💕🙏🙏
Deborah, that is beautiful! So well expressed. I felt every fiber of what you shared in your poem. I have experienced that so many times. I cry out to God often. Many many times all I can say is “Help!” And, he helps me. He comforts me with his love, and he counsels me in his Spirit, and he shows me the path I am to follow, and how I am to trust in his sovereignty over my life and not give way to fear. So, prayer works! Amen! Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful poem!!
Thank you Sue. I have found that no matter how I pray, it is not the words but the faith and trust I put behind them that matters the most! Have a blessed day with Jesus ~
