If the Lord should tarry,
and I should see another day
I’ll continue to press on
as I travel the narrow way.
If I have to remain,
on this earth a while longer
my faith in Jesus . . .
will only just get stronger.
If I have to wait,
until the Lord comes for me
my hope will see me through
until the day with Him I’ll be.
If I have to linger,
and I’m given here more time
I’ll keep on trusting Jesus
as obstacles I climb.
If the Lord should tarry,
and I remain here another day
I’ll be waiting right here . . .
till with Him ~ He takes me away!
~~~~~~~~~~
“For yet a little while,
and he that shall come will come,
and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith:
but if any man draw back,
my soul shall have no
pleasure in him.
My sheep hear my voice,
and I know them,
and they follow me:
This poem reminded me of a favorite song by Amy Grant “My Father’s Eyes” Now this poem is also my favorite! May God bless you, in the same way this poem has blessed me.
Saving Grace (Petrarchan sonnet)
Anticipation called from far and wide,
Awaited by the Kings up East: Behold!
They came with myrrh, frankincense and gold
crossed arid land; Your star, their leading light.
They found a breath old boy and knew outright
You are the King, whose hand the scepter hold.
Immanuel, the One the Word’s foretold
in prophesies; the One who will divide.
You walked Your chosen road to Calvary.
With blood, upon the wood, paid for us all.
Your Grace, since then, until eternity,
resound in song; “Nearer my God to Thee.”
In faith we’ll trust and answer to Your call.
We live! Your saving grace has set us free.
Thank you so much. No Deborah Ann, I don’t have a blog. I’m not sure I want one. I am just a humble follower of our Lord Jesus. But I do enjoy your poems and quotes on your blog.
I comment on many forums and believe you me, He is opening so many doors. Praise His holy name.
