Hold on fast,
stand your ground
from your faith
don’t back down.
Then when attacked,
for just believing
the truth will keep . .
you from retreating.
Be consistent,
sustain your footing
in God’s Word keep
your trust putting.
Then when faced,
with opposition
your armor will be
in prime condition.
Hold on fast,
defend your position
then stand your ground
on your convictions!
~~~~~~~~
But he stood in the midst of the ground,
and defended it, and slew the Philistines:
and the Lord wrought a great victory.
Wherefore take unto you the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able
to withstand in the evil day,
and having done all, to stand.
A student of mine once asked what’s the difference between courage& brave. My simple answer was courage stands firm& fights the challenge. Brave stands firm but might not fight. And so I encouraged him to be both brave& courageous. That to me captures what standing firm means. Do not flee as the Israelites did from the Philistines.
I like your definition of the difference of courage and brave! Courage goes so much further and requires us to take action!
True. I’m a teacher by passion not by profession & the curiosity to discover with my students spurs me to think about how God’s Word is made effect in their lives. As we discover new definitions to the already defined.
Where do you teach? I once taught Sunday School k-1 and loved teaching the little children about God and Jesus. They were so innocent and were like sponges absorbing the truth and the love of their Savior!
I teach at my local church in Kenya. I have taught children ranging from the ages 3 to 14. To some I am still their teacher even now that they are adults pursuing different courses in college. I loved watching them learn about Jesus & some open up with cheer to overcome sad life situations.
I taught k-1 Sunday school and loved the childlike faith I was exposed to. Although I was the teacher they taught me so much!
Yeah. Teaching has a way of having reversed roles most times. But for one to enjoy the beauty of this phenomenon you have to humble yourself enough to drop off the title teacher.
Thank you Oneta for you kind comment. I don’t comment myself very much as I am limited to the time I can spend on my computer so I read and like on my ipad but typing a comment on such a small device is not easy! ! Have a blessed day with Jesus ~
