What’s in your heart,
what idol has it occupied
what’s causing God . . .
to be small and minimized?
Do you overtly worship,
adore and love it
is it filling up the space
of the Holy Spirit?
What’s on your mind,
what thoughts do you greet
what’s causing Jesus . . .
to take a back seat?
Do you openly fantasize,
on worldly pleasure
is it taking the place
of your eternal treasure?
What is in your heart,
what is on your mind
what is satan using . . .
to keep your soul blind?
~~~~~~~~
In whom the god of this world
hath blinded the minds of them
which believe not, lest the light
of the glorious gospel of Christ,
who is the image of God,
should shine unto them.
This poem is something everyone can hook up with. Our sinful nature requires us to take our sins and place them at the Cross in unselfish and humble repentance.
Yes and the “humble repentance” is something that is so needed in the church today!
“what is satan using . . .
to keep your soul blind?”
Love that part! So convicting!
It’s like what the Bible says in Isaiah:
“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:22)
Yet, so many of us allow our souls and hearts to become so blind with the pleasures and the idols of this world! It’s so sad!
Our only hope is to ask God and pray that He will open our eyes and help us look to Him for strength and help; not the things this world offers us!
After all, this world is not our home! Christ has a BETTER home for us in HEAVEN! Hallelujah!!! 🙌🙌🙏🙏
AMEN! I love knowing that this world is not “our home” and that God has something so much better planned for us 🙂
Rarely do we ask ourselves this question. It would be wonderful to always to take a break & take stock of your walk with Christ to ensure you are walking the correct path.
Yes, we do need to examine our hearts often just as 2 Corinthians 13:5 alerts us to do. It’s the only way to be sure the ways of the world are not creeping into our lives. The Holy Spirit will convict us if we allow Him to and we can get our hearts right with God! ~ Blessings of peace and grace to you ~
Amen. A broken spirit &a contrite heart He will not despise. He desires truth in the inmost part.
