My faith is simple,
I must admit
the truth I seek
within limits.
If in my Bible,
it’s not found
I know it’s not
Gospel sound.
I don’t believe,
all I hear . . .
for the truth
I do revere.
If God’s Word,
is slightly altered
I don’t accept
what is offered.
My faith is simple,
so is the truth
it’s still the same
as in my youth!

held in God’s hands.

with assurance

with the riches found

Lord, as I look all around,
I see all You have made
I see the beauty in the sunrise
and the splendor when it fades.
I see the majestic mountain peaks,
and the hills brilliant, amber tops
I see the stars sparkle ever brightly
in a sky that never seems to stop.
Lord, when I look all around,
I see all the things You have done
I see how much I am blessed
by the love and grace of Your Son.
I see Your mercy dispersed,
when a Savior was given
to a world so full of sin
so all could be forgiven.

Sometimes my faith feels,
as if it’s in hibernation . . .
like it decided to take off
on some wintry vacation.
Thought I know it’s alive,
I don’t feel it growing
it’s as if the living water
in it just stopped flowing.
Sometime my faith feels,
as if it’s been frozen . . .
like it just iced over
numbing my devotion.
Though I know it’s aware,
I don’t feel the fullness
it’s as if the well of life
lost its true brilliance.
Sometimes my faith needs,
a vivid reawakening
to bring it back from its . . .
self-inflected hibernating!

His Word never fails
His promises He keeps
right down to the details.
Promises of new life,
that His Son brings
promises of hope
to work out all things.
Promises of comfort,
when trails we face
promises of new mercy
and sufficient grace.
Promises of blessings,
of every spiritual kind
promises of His peace
to guard heart and mind.
Promises to finish,
all that He has begun
promises of salvation
through the gift of His Son.
God keeps His promises,
they are solid as a Rock
He promises us Jesus . . .
will return for His flock!

Fear is like the ocean,
it comes in with a roar
knocking you off your feet
throwing you to the floor.
It swells and it rises,
with its pulsing sound
so that panic stricken
you’ll stay on the ground.
Fear is like thunder,
it scares as it rumbles
causing you to shake
in midst of your troubles.
It alarms and startles,
with each booming strike
filling you with dread
upon each clap of light.
Fear come in waves,
in and out it ebbs . . .
but, we who trust Jesus
don’t let it in our heads!

I believe in God,
in all of His glorious creation
I believe He made the heavens
and the earth's foundation.

is the cause for our fallen state
