Father, thank You for the Cross,
for all Jesus did for me
for opening my eyes
so my fallen state I could see.
Thank You for Your mercy,
the scourging of my sin
for opening my ears
to Your wooing voice within.
Thank You for Your favor,
the thorns of righteousness
for opening my mouth
so my wrongs I could confess.
Thank You Father for Your love,
the lashings of my shame
for opening my heart
so I could call upon Your name.
Thank You for the blood,
that poured out from Your Son
for the gift of salvation . . .
You granted to every one!
“But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower
than the angels for the suffering of death,
crowned with glory and honour; that he by the
grace of God should taste death for every man.”
