When fear chases you,
before you get caught
there is a refuge . . .
for you God has got.
It’s a place of safety,
for you to run into
where dread and panic
cannot overtake you.
When your heart starts,
frantically racing
and your hands begin
violently shaking.
Run to the fortress,
of peace and trust
for it is where God
promises to meet us.
Before fear chases you,
into a dreadful fright
into God’s shelter . . .
run with all your might!
~~~~~~~~
“He that dwelleth in the
secret place of the most
High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord,
He is my refuge and my
fortress: my God;
in him will I trust.”
