I hear about God’s love,
and tolerance
I hear about wealth
and being prosperous.
But, what I don’t hear,
theses days any more . . .
is the repentance of sin
lest it cause an uproar.
I hear about God’s love,
and stewardship
I hear about the greed
among the leadership.
But what I don’t hear,
is about sin’s liberation
for the Scriptures now have
too many mutations.
I hear all about God’s love,
but never about His wrath
for few preachers these days . . .
want to go down this path!

“But in vain they do worship me,
teaching for doctrines
the commandments of men.”

So true. God’s holiness (and dislike of sin) is not mentioned, while his love is. Dangerous teaching leading people astray. Thanks for your prophetic words.

I so agree with you Kim, I was brought up with “fire and brimstone” messages. They sure helped me stay on the narrow way! So many are falling off the path of righteous due to the lack of these messages. ~ Have a blessed day with Jesus ~

Deborah, I had the opposite in my faith formation. I brought up in love and grace message at a progressive evangelical Baptist church. After 20 years of hearing the same message, I have moved to a Methodist church which also preaches God’s holiness. I found without such teaching, I drifted to a irreveance of God and his authority. ~ blessings Kim

It seems the love of Jesus is what it is all about anymore. I do not doubt His love for all, but I do know this, we are commanded to go and sin no more. If we don’t hear about sin from the Sunday pulpits, who then? I saw (somewhere) an astonishing lower number of how many “Christian’s” actually read their Bibles! Glad you found a church that talks about our need to pursue holiness. ~ Have a blessed day with our Lord and Savior ~

I hear about God’s love…but not love FOR Him.
