God didn’t promise us,
days without any rain
times when we’d have
no suffering or pain.
But, He did promise us,
He’d always be there
to carry our burdens
and to ease our care.
God didn’t promise us,
skies constantly blue
nor that thunderous storms
in our lives wouldn’t brew.
But, He did promise us,
the grace to endure
His wings as a shelter
to keep us secure.
God didn’t promise us,
life would be pain-free
but, He did promise us . . .
through it all, He would be!
~~~~~~~~~~~
“That ye may be the children
of your Father which is
in heaven: for he maketh
his sun to rise on the evil
and on the good, and sendeth
rain on the just
and on the unjust.”
