On whatsoever is honest,
let your mind be ruled
so to the world’s ways
you will not be fooled.
For, that which is honest,
will see through the deceit
and the lies others tell you
with the truth, you’ll defeat.
Whatever things are honest,
in your heart let them root
and God’s righteousness
will be your soul’s pursuit.
For, that which is honest,
brings spiritual purity
and you will be blessed
with eternal security.
Whatever things are honest,
let them fill your mind
though others may despise you
God’s peace you will find!
~~~~~
Finally, brethren . . .
whatsoever things are honest . . .
if there be any virtue,
and if there be any praise,
think on these things.”
So good. I actually know a tune made up to this verse, and when some of my family members and me seemed to be on a rough subject this verse would come to mind, and one of us would sing it, when our thoughts and words weren’t so honest. Good insight. Truth is important in these trying days. Thank you.
Wonderful once again. Have you read my commentary on Phil 4 from my Travelling through Philippians blog? I spent a day on each whatsoever thing. What the Holy Spirit gave me really opened my eyes to some new truths. If you have’t, and wish to, they start here:
Pete, I am in the process of doing this too . . . taking one “think of” at a time. It is a wonderful way to study this verse. I am on my way to check out your links ( is this your site?) . ~ Have a blessed day with Jesus ~
I haven’t decided what to do next on that site, since I am done with the Phlippians study. I’m praying about it, but right now I am not posting to that site.
Well, I am going to read through it and pray the Lord will put on your heart to continue to do a study in another book say like Ephesians! I only say that because it is one of my favorites to study and also Peter. I can so relate to Peter 🙂
