I’ve felt the hand of disappointment,
slap me across the face
I’ve handled discouragement
without finesse and grace.
I’ve felt the sting of rejection,
burn from head to toe
I’ve handled the loneliness
by hiding in my own shadow.
I’ve felt the weight of despair,
hanging heavy on my heart
I’ve handled the agony
in ways not always smart.
I’ve felt the pain of self-loathing,
like a deadly cancer spread
I’ve handled the mockery
by repeating what others said.
I have felt the hand of God,
touch my life within . . .
now I am only disappointed
if I don’t spend time with Him!
~~~~~~
” Why art thou cast down,
O my soul? and why art thou
disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my
countenance, and my God.”
Thanks so much for this heartfelt poetic expression. As I read it, I seemed to be looking into the mirror of my soul, and I was deeply touched.
Thanks also for the likes posted on my blog. You are a blessing to me–back at you.
