Fully Invested ~
My heart and soul,
in God are invested
so I call on Him . . .
wherever I’m tested
I use my Bible,
to help and defend
whatever tempest
that He may send.
I hold onto the truth,
when trials I fight
I know it will lead me
straight into His light.
When storms blow in,
on My Rock I stand
and Anchor myself
right into His hand.
My heart and soul,
are fully invested
tis why I trust God . . .
whenever I’m tested!

Retired People ~
Some people when retired,
are just plain bored
but I find myself . . .
getting closer to the Lord.
Some people with their time,
don’t know what to do
but each year I read . . .
my Bible through and through.
Some people sit all day,
in front of the television
but I just close my eyes . . .
so heaven I can envision.
Some people never leave,
the comfort of their home
but I’m always looking . . .
for lost sheep on the roam.
Some people when retired,
see no real meaningfulness
but my life just gets fuller . . .
with God’s purposefulness!

The Hand of God ~
I’ve felt the hand of disappointment,
slap me across the face
I’ve handled discouragement
without finesse and grace.
I’ve felt the sting of rejection,
burn from head to toe
I’ve handled the loneliness
by hiding in my own shadow.
I’ve felt the weight of despair,
hanging heavy on my heart
I’ve handled the agony
in ways not always smart.
I’ve felt the pain of self-loathing,
like a deadly cancer spread
I’ve handled the mockery
by repeating what others said.
I have felt the hand of God,
touch my life within . . .
now I am only disappointed
if I don’t spend time with Him!

” Why art thou cast down,
O my soul? and why art thou
disquieted within me?
hope thou in God:
for I shall yet praise him,
who is the health of my
countenance, and my God.”

If Only I Could Fly ~
Lord, there are days,
I want to get away . . .
to fly up and over
the daily crazy fray.
There are times,
I wish I had wings
to soar high above . .
the storms life brings.
There are moments,
I want to only flee . . .
into perfect peace
to be alone with Thee.
There are periods,
in my hectic life . . .
I wish to escape
from the endless strife.
Lord, there are days,
I want to fly away
and in Your arms . . .
forever rest and stay!

Oh that I had wings
like a dove!
for then would
I fly away,
and be at rest.”

Faith and Trust ~
Faith and trust,
go hand in hand
we need both
to firmly stand.
For without one,
the other dies
faithless trust
is hope’s demise.
Faith and hearing,
go together
so does reading
God’s written letter.
For without hearing,
faith will cease
without God’s Word
there is no peace.
Faith and sight,
is not about seeing
it’s in all things
God believing.
For through our eyes,
we cannot see
what God has planned
for you and me.
Faith and trust,
must always connect
we need to hear
if God, is to perfect!

Words Spoken in Deeds ~
Acts of kindness,
words of hope
we all need them
to help us cope.
Acts of compassion,
words of forgiveness
we should all make
our daily business.
Acts of love,
words of encouragement
helps us through
our own discouragement.
Acts of gentleness,
words of appreciation
seen in our actions
and communication.
Acts of generosity
words of helpfulness
leaves no room
for our own selfishness.
Acts of kindness,
words spoken in deed
we all should give . . .
but, we also need!
~~~~~~
tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for
Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”
O, Taste and See ~
I’ve tasted the goodness,
from God’s banquet table
I’ve feasted on His Word
and now its a daily staple.
I’ve supped on the truth,
with my Lord and Savior
and now His Life and Way
I’ve come to daily savor.
I’ve been to the buffet,
of God’s benevolence
and now I understand
the meaning of excellence.
I’ve dined with my Redeemer,
my healing, Comforter
and now I know who is
my daily bread Provider.
I’m blessed beyond measure,
and I’m loving the fullness
now that I have tasted God
I’m filled with all His goodness!
