What Will I Lose ~

What Will I Lose ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I asked the Lord,
what will be my loss
if I daily . . .
picked up my cross.

He said to me,
here’s what it requires
but first you must die
to all selfish-desires.

All your dreams,
ideas and plans
must be placed now
into My hands.

Then you will need,
to follow Me
so I can lead you
to where you should be.

All your possessions,
all that you own
you must leave behind
yes, even your home.

You must give up,
family and friends
your bank accounts
and stock dividends.

I asked the Lord,
what will be my loss . . .
YOUR VERY LIFE He said
if  you don’t pick up your cross!

Matthew 16:25-26

” For whosoever will save his life
shall lose it: and whosoever will
lose his life for my sake shall find it.

For what is a man profited,
if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose his own soul?
or what shall a man give
in exchange for his soul?”

Reblogged this on Wings of the Wind and commented:
This is the first time that I’ve ever used two of Deborah Ann’s poems back to back. Her words are based on scripture, scripture that holds many promises. This is why I appreciate Deborah’s poems so much.

Wow two in one week . . . so many blessings coming down from above! Thank you so much for the reblogs Chris. My son Rick who lives in Costa Rica came for a surprise weekend visit . . . another blessing from God as I had not seen him for 6 months and haven’t talk to him in weeks. I had just prayed and asked God to have him call me and God one up that and sent him to see me. God is so good! ~ Have a blessed day with Jesus ~

You’re welcome and thank you for your kind wishes, Deborah Ann.

I am so glad that you got to see your son. As Costa Rica is pretty far away, I can imagine how happy you were to see him.

I awoke to some special things too although they are not as unusual as your son’s visit: the plants outside are making oxygen for me to breath, the bees are doing their job still, as is the sun at the moment, and the Word of God remains everlasting.

I hope you have a great day in the Lord. 🙂

I guess I was so caught up in my son being here I missed those things . . . they were all here too . . . but went without my noticing them. It got me to think about how much I don’t notice the everyday miracles of God’s creation. So today I am going to go to my daughter’s and take my three grandsons on a walk and ask them to help me to see all of God’s creations and what they do for us. Should be a fun time for all and a good lesson too! ~ Blessings ~

            That sounds great, Deborah Ann.

It seems that kids are more interested in natural things more than adults. Many adults will just squash a bug without thinking. I’m not a roach or tick fan myself and those must go. Most children are very interested in many kinds of natural things even if they are afraid of them.

I have a snake pop up every now and then as they get stuck in netting that is designed to keep birds from berries and such.

A good sized one was stuck just the other day. Because I knew it was a good snake, one that keeps the bad ones away, I cut it loose. I had some assistance as my son held a broom on the snake’s head while I cut it loose. This snake had just been trapped it seemed because it had such strength. It took about 10 minutes to cut it out as it had dug itself deep into the plastic netting. It wasn’t a newborn as it was quite large. It’s freedom will now help keep the bad snakes down.

It was/is an amazing part of creation.

I hope you all have a great time out among the things that God has made.

            God’s blessings….
