My Prayer for Samuel ~

Samuel, God’s child,
His precious little one
trust Him to finish
what He has begun.

Gather your strength,
from the palm of His hands
know that He has for you
some mighty big plans.

Continue to be brave,
as this battle you fight
keep drawing on God’s
holy power and might.

Breath in His mercy,
exhale His grace
let His love for you
your tiny body embrace.

Samuel, God’s child,
Steve’s & Rachel’s precious son
stay brave, be strong . . .
believe this battle, will be won!

Please pray for little baby Samuel
who was born at 29 weeks 5 days,
and weighed in at 2 lbs 10 oz.
He was born into a family of great
faith and a deep love for God.

He and they need all of our prayers
for God’s strength, peace and mercy!

Amen and Amen

It’s almost a year later and I’m wondering how baby Samuel is doing, Deborah Ann. When you have time, may I have an update?

  • lilyofthevalley777

Debby, it’s been a year. I hope Samuel and his mom and dad are doing ok. Love and blessings ♡

    • Deborah Ann

Susan everyone is doing fine. Samuel is healthy and well. His mom and dad have a wonderful testimony to tell about how though this test and trial their faith is stronger than ever. What a faithful Father we have!

    Praying!!! Wow 2 pounds???!

Thank you Natalie. I went to the doctors and discussed the issue of having a stroke in the future since I did not start getting these until after I was 55. So . . . something to be aware of and give to the Lord!

I had a stroke almost 4 years ago. And the Lord granted me a miracle! The two clots were removed and I have no real residual damage from it. I would caution you to check out any meds that you take as that is probably what caused mine! Even over the counter meds. For example now I can’t take Advil or Aleve.. My migraines started when I was 25. Every year that I continue to survive reduces the chances of another stroke, but I still need to give it to the Lord! 👍❤️

Praise the Lord for His blessing you with a miracle 🙂 I will check my meds. I don’t take a lot of over the counter but I do take some herbal supplements. I so sorry you have had them so long. I could not imagine having these things when my kids were young and when I was working. They just through you for a loop and leave you feeling so drained for days! I will keep you in my prayers and thank you for yours Natalie! Have a blessed day with Jesus ~

    Samuel…it is a great name.

He will be in my prayers. I hope you give updates every so often, Deborah Ann. Maybe in poem, maybe at the bottom?

    He is a blessing.

Thank you for sharing his and his parents’ story with us.

    God’s blessings….

It is a great name and he is showing his strength in fighting this battle. I know the doctors told them to terminate the pregnancy at 24 weeks but the faith and trust his parents have refused to take away what God had given them. So she went into the hospital for 4 weeks until Samuel was able to survive out of the womb. He has his struggles, but is proving to be “God Strong” and improving each day. Samuel’s mom is my second cousin I have only met her once but my Uncle is a minister so I know she has a strong thread of faith running through her and she will pass that on to Samuel. Thank you so much for your prayers Chris. I will keep updates going!

The is awesome. A recommendation to discard a child of God as if it is a piece of unwanted trash? The suggestion is a sad thing. These young people have made the correct decision in a time where it seems to be too easy in the other direction. I am so happy that Samuel is doing as well as he is. “God Strong” is good for sure and I believe many prayers are reaching God’s ears. I will attempt to have mine do the same.

        Updates would be excellent!!!

        • Deborah Ann

Yes, God is proving the doctors wrong as are all the prayers that are being prayed for him and his family. Hallelujah and Praise the Lord!

          • Chris

Amen. That is good news, indeed!

            • Deborah Ann

Samuel’s mom and dad are sick so they cannot go see him. He is having trouble with acid reflex a common problem for preemies. But, he is putting on weight and that is always a good sign. Thank you so much for your prayers! ~ Blessings ~

                You’re welcome, Deborah Ann.

Thank you for the update even if it isn’t all good news. It helps to know what else in this situation to pray for. It is very good to hear that Samuel is putting on weight! 🙂

New update. He is now having problems eating and can not go home until they resolve this issue. His mommy is so discouraged as Samuel is now two-months old and still in the NICU! We need God to do a miracle for this baby, and to give his mom and dad the added strength and trust they so need. Thank you for praying along with me for this family Chris! ~ Blessings to you and yours ~

Thank you for the update on baby Samuel, Deborah Ann. This news would be discouraging to any loving parent. I will continue to ask God to touch this little boy. It is a privilege to ask God for His help in this situation. Thank you for your kind words.

                    God’ blessings…

Samuel is doing a little better this week but is still losing weight. They are trying him on some different formulas. He has some problems with reflux and it is making it difficult to keep the milk down. After a really bad week Rachel has been very depressed and discouraged so please pray the Lord with continue to hold her and all of her family up and give them the strength that only comes from Him. Amen and Amen and thank you Jesus!

                    • Chris

                      Amen, Deborah.

Thank you for the update. I will pray with those who are praying for little Samuel. I know many are praying for his parents as well. We pray that God will give them a peace that passes all understanding at this difficult time.

Thank you for asking, Deborah Ann.

I am keeping busy as usual. I’m sure you can relate with me that it is hard to keep up with it all at times. At the same time, I am thankful to be busy

                    • Chris

Oops! I hit the send button early I guess. I was writing that I am thankful to be busy instead of thinking there is nothing to do. I am also thankful that my health is good enough to allow me to keep moving.
I have a feeling you are quite busy yourself with family, blogging, and all of the other things that you must do. May God grant us the strength to do what needs to be done. 🙂

                    • Deborah Ann

Oh, yes I too am busy and like you I am thankful I am able to keep busy and that my health is good though my physical body parts are in pain God does give me the strength to press on. Pretty soon though, I will be happy that it is fall and I can fall back into a less busy routine and spend more time alone with God which is where my happy place truly is 🙂

Although there is always something to do for me in the summer (particularly things to catch up on), our schedules are a bit different.

When schools starts in the Fall, I will be back in front of students. It will mean less time for blogging but I’ll still find time to read your snippets and maybe get a post or so up each week. 🙂

                    • Deborah Ann

Yes, the Lord has taken me out of the work field for the past ten-years due to my physical self . . . but has blessed me with doing what I love the most and that is looking up Scripture and writing the poems He gives me and spending time with my grand children 🙂 so I really have nothing to complain about . . . so why do I” Hum, that old man still working his way out of me I guess 🙂 ~ Have a blessed week Chris and thank you for all your encouraging comments ~

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a complaint, Deborah Ann though I know we all have them at times for the reason you’ve stated.

You are definitely using your time well. Thank you for your kind words and I hope that God will bless your week as well. 🙂
