When calm doesn’t come,
when peace is far away
I stop what I’m doing
and to my Father, I pray.
Prayer is my refuge,
from the dread inside me
it’s where I find comfort
from the fear, I can’t see.
When I am anxious,
when my nerves are a mess
I pray without stopping
to rid myself of distress.
I put my trust in God,
till I’m no longer afraid
His unfailing love keeps me
from becoming dismayed.
When calmness eludes you,
when peace seems so far away
the best thing you can do . . .
is stop everything and pray!

Here is another poem by Deborah Ann that has blessed me. Our lives are full of hurry and worry in our modern era. What better thing than to turn to God’s Word for help? He is, indeed, a help in times of trouble.

Ah, thank you so much Chris for this blessing 🙂 I am always in need of this reminder! In a world where there are so many different directions in which the winds are blowing, it is good to remember to keep our prayers flowing! ~ Blessings abundantly to you my friend in Jesus ~

You’re welcome, Deborah Ann. 🙂
I am like you. Sometimes I forget that I need His help. The winds are strong in so many directions as you have noted. The safe haven lie ahead and prayer proceeds it. I have learned the truth of this quote from our Savior: “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”
We can go through the motions but anything of lasting importance is given by grace. Prayers is one of the blessings we have and rely on to ask for that grace.
Thank you for you kind wishes.
May God richly bless you, my friend…

I understand, Deborah Ann. We have to ask for wisdom whether or not we should walk through a door even when it is door is open. It will eventually come if it is meant to come. 🙂
