Onto the cross Jesus took,
all of my sorrow and pain
replaced them with His grace
so His peace I could gain.
No longer do I need,
to struggle my way through
for on the cross, in Jesus
everything became new.
No more tears do I cry,
for my past sinful ways
now that under the cross
my grateful soul lays.
No more do I to evil,
succumb or yield
for by His stripes
I am now healed.
Onto the cross Jesus took,
all of my grief and pain
and the only way to repay Him
is to let Him, in my life reign!
~~~~~~~
“Who his own self bare our sins
in his own body on the tree,
that we, being dead to sins,
should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.”
