Those who seek God’s favor,
before they start their day
find protection for their soul
as they go about their way.
Our early cries to God,
our morning meditation
are for our troubled soul
the best kind of medication.
Those who seek God’s mercy,
with a heart full of praise
find peace and tranquility
along life’s winding maze.
Our pleas for daily strength,
our prayers for our enemy
are our souls best defense
with an everlasting remedy.
Our requests to God,
our petitions for endurance
are for our thankful souls
a shield of assurance.
Those who seek God’s favor
in the early morning light
are the ones who are filled
with His power and His might!
~~~~~~~~
“Give ear to my words,
O Lord, consider my meditation.
Hearken unto the voice of my cry,
my King, and my God: for unto
thee will I pray.
My voice shalt thou hear
in the morning, O Lord;
in the morning will I direct
my prayer unto thee,
and will look up.”
