Insulted and ridiculed,
poked and made fun of
for me Jesus was affronted
in the name of eternal love.
Bruised for my rebellion,
cursed and spit upon
for my own wickedness
Jesus was severely beaten on.
Wounded for my sins,
whipped and cruelly lashed
for my transgressions
Jesus was brutally slashed.
Pierced and stabbed,
left hanging on the cross
because of me, Jesus became
no better than a pile of dross.
My punishment He took,
my peace, He finally sealed
tis why by His stripes today
my soul to God is healed!

Isaiah 53:5
“But he was wounded for our transgressions,
he was bruised for our iniquities:
the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

Thank you so much Steve, it is painful to think that He had to endure so much for us and I am eternally grateful! ~ Happy Resurection Day ~

That is so very true! Once someone asked me “who put Jesus to death?” I answered the standard “well, it was the Jewish Priests who gave Him to the Romans to crucify.”
But then I thought about it. Actually it was everyone who has ever lived that made it necessary for Christ to go to the cross…
And many people continue to crucify Him all over again today. Thank the Father that His grace is bigger than our sins!

Amen . . . though I am saved, I remain a sinner as long as I am in this body and whenever I think about what Jesus went through I take it very personally. I tell myself that “I did that to Him” and then He tells me “Look what I did for you” What a love story : ) ~ Blessings ~

A great love story indeed! We do have a “sin problem” which we can’t take care of ourselves.
That made it necessary to have a Perfect Lamb to cleanse an imperfect people and make us holy in the sight of God.
Jesus went to the cross willingly and He will forever be glorified for enduring that for us.
Take care Deborah Ann and have a super day!
