My Kind of Hope ~
My hope is built on,
things I cannot see . . .
not on the troubles
today, surrounding me.
On them I don’t focus,
I’m looking forward to
the day God’s glory . . .
comes shinning thru.
Today’s sufferings,
don’t compare to the day
when everyone’s tears . . .
will all be wiped away.
I’m eagerly awaiting,
for Jesus to return
when for this world . . .
I’ll haven’t one concern.
My hope is built on,
things I cannot see
especially the day . . .
Jesus comes for me!

the substance of things
hoped for,
the evidence of things
not seen.”

My Shepherd’s Voice ~
Is that You Lord,
is that You calling out to me
is that Your light Lord
that I’m beginning to see?
Is that Your voice,
I’m hearing in the shadows
is that Your staff
leading me to green meadows?
Is that You Lord,
is that You giving me direction
is that Your rod
providing me with protection?
Is that Your peace,
that I’m feeling all around
is that Your love
making my heart bound?
Is that You Lord,
is that my Shepherd’s voice I hear?
if so then Lord . . .
I faithfully give to You my ear!

A Carnal Life ~
Having a hard time,
living the truth and way
is your spiritual compass
up and down every day?
Aggravated one day,
the next, loving and kind
are the fruits of the Spirit
in your life hard to find?
Fighting with temptation,
battling with hidden sin . . .
is the enemy of your soul
on the constant win?
Needing others approval,
seeking worldly ambition
none of God’s plan for you
seem to come to fruition?
Looking for happiness,
but, ending up with strife
could it be that . . .
you’re living a carnal life?
~~~~~~~~~
1 Corinthians 3:3
” For ye are yet carnal: for whereas
there is among you envying, and strife,
and divisions, are ye not carnal,
and walk as men?
One-Step- At-A-Time ~
It’s a daily thing,
this Christian walk
it’s a one-step-at-a-time
this Christian walk.
It’s a journey,
at times a troublesome one
it’s a battle
with Satan that must be won.
It’s a voyage,
one storm right after another
it’s a struggle
to keep our faith from going under.
It’s a passage,
from the darkness into the light
it’s an encounter
needing all our strength and might.
It’s an expedition,
with our very own cross to bear
it’s a fight
not to buckle under from our care.
It’s a daily thing,
this Christian walk
it’s a one-step-at-a-time
to walk this Christian walk!
might have peace. In the
world ye shall have
tribulation: but be of good cheer;
I have overcome the world.
Off With the Old, On With the New ~
The Old Man
no longer lives in me
it is now the New Man
that I choose to be.
For I have put-off,
the things I use to do
I have put-on these things
Lord . . . just for You . . .
Irritation for meekness,
dishonesty for truthfulness
quarrelsome for harmony
bitterness for forgiveness.
Bragging for humbleness,
idleness for service
cheating for honesty
emptiness for purpose.
Blaming for responsibility,
complacency for eagerness
complaining for thankfulness
depression for happiness.
Annoyance for contentment,
laziness for keenness
defiance for obedience
divisiveness for stillness.
Hatred for love,
resentful for delightful
greediness for gladness
drunkenness for self-control.
Shame for confession,
un-holiness for righteousness
sin for repentance
irresponsible for cautiousness.
Envious for satisfaction,
disbelief for trust
gossip for good reports
unfairness for being just.
Excess for restraint,
old ways for the new
following the world . . .
for following after You!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 4:22-24
“That ye put off concerning the former
conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man,
which after God is created
in righteousness and true holiness.”

God Never Fails ~
God, You never fail,
but, often I do
especially when . . .
I don’t come to You.
You never give up,
but, often I will
usually because . . .
I can’t be still.
You never falter,
but, often I stumble
typically because . . .
I’m not always humble.
You never waver,
but, often I hesitate
especially when You . . .
I underestimate.
God, You never fail,
You’re constant and true
tis the reason always . . .
I can count on You!

Sowing Seeds of Grace ~
Sow the seeds of grace,
scattered them in the field
let the wind carry them
then watch for the yield.
For, the wind will take them,
to places far and wide
pray as you release them
the Spirit will lead and guide.
Sow the seeds of grace,
out of faith and trust
be not too concerned
if they fly with the gust.
For, as the breeze carries,
these tiny seeds of grace
they will find there is . . .
plenty of open space.
Sow the seeds of grace,
let the wind carry them away
for, you don’t know the heart
they may take root in one day!

Ecclesiastes 11:6

and in the evening withhold not thine hand:
for thou knowest not whether shall prosper,
either this or that,
or whether they both shall be alike good.”

As A Child of God ~
As a child of God,
you are acceptable
never will you be
to Him, dispensable.
As one of His own,
you truly matter
even if you once
were a God hater.
As a child of God,
you are valuable
never will you be
to Him, replaceable.
As one of His own,
you are so special
even if you were
a hell-raising rebel.
As a child of God,
you are a treasure
His love for you
is without measure.
As one of His own,
you are royalty
even with all your
failure and frailty.
As a child of God,
you are forgivable
for, Jesus died . . .
to make it possible!

into his marvellous light;”

Temple Sale ~
I’m cleaning my spiritual house,
its become quite a mess . . .
in it there is so much junk
I must be honest and confess.
It’s so crammed and packed,
the Holy Spirit cannot dwell
so I’m going to be having me
a temple clearing sale.
Over time it’s gotten crowded,
with worthless things I ensue
Lord, I promise when I’m done
there’ll be only room for You.
So, I’m sifting through my stuff,
all my material possessions
getting rid of anything . .
that has become an obsession.
I’m cleaning my spiritual house,
so I can have some extra space
where God can come and fill it . . .
with more, of His daily grace!

1 Peter 2:5
“Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house,
an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices,
acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”

Using our Gifts ~
Lord, to all you have given,
gifts to which You’ve entrust
so many diverse talents
You have given each of us.
You have endowed us all,
with spiritual abilities
so many of us are blessed
with unique qualities.
You awarded each one,
with their own personality
so together we can be one
regardless of our specialty.
We all have the capability,
but, sadly not the desire
to use our gifts and talents
to enlighten and inspire.
Lord, if we chose to use,
the gifts You’ve given us
just think how many more . . .
in You, would place their trust!

even so minister the same one to another,
as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
