Some say that life is short,
some say it seems so long
as each day drags on
with the nights playing along.
Troubles are all around,
tribulations at every turn
hearts and minds with worry
constantly stir and churn.
Some say life is like a breeze,
some say it’s like a constant gale
with thunderous clouds striking
leaving us weak and frail.
Gusty trials and blustering tests,
the storms just keep rolling on
as another dark cloud approaches
before the first one is even gone.
But, we who know the truth,
understand life is but a vapor
no matter what people say . . .
we know it’s not in vain we labor!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Whereas ye know not what
shall be on the morrow.
For what is your life?
It is even a vapour,
that appeareth
for a little time,
and then vanisheth away.
Therefore, my beloved brethren,
be ye stedfast, unmoveable,
always abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye
know that your labour is
not in vain in the Lord.
