A New Heart ~

Lord ~ create in me a heart,
one devoted to only You
take away what keeps . . .
You from getting through.

Give me a heart that’s wise,
let me seek You for directions
help me to fully understand
Your tweaks and corrections.

Change what You want,
do whatever You can
so, I may come to know
for me, Your perfect plan.

Renew in me Your spirit,
repair the decay of my sin
cleanse me inside out
till only You reign within.

Give me a heart with a soul,
full of love and affection
let it be a heart that shines
with You, in its reflection.

Lord ~ I give You my heart,
in favor of Your pursuing
for I know You I can trust
in whatever You’ll be doing!

Love and Marriage?

Spouse not listening,
doesn’t hear what you say
thinking of parting . . .
going off your own way?

Wife doesn’t get you,
always nagging and complaining
thinking of finding . . .
a relationship more sustaining?

Husband mad and angry,
always yells and screams
thinking of looking . . .
for the man of your dreams?

Children too stubborn,
rebellious and defiant
thinking of going . . .
so they’ll be more compliant?

In-laws causing problems,
always meddling in your life
thinking of departing. . .
to put an end to the strife?

Every marriage,
brings irritation and frustration
but if  you call it quits . . .
it’ll bring spiritual starvation.

For, what God has put together,
He doesn’t want to see fall apart
your marriage He can heal . . .
if you let Him, take hold of your heart!
