Those who love the Lord,
are not a part of this world
they hate the evil in it
they don’t give sin a whirl.
They know they are safe,
from the hand of the wicked
for, Jesus guards their life
to lust they’re not addicted.
The world is not a friend,
they know it’s their enemy
they want nothing to do
with its ungodly chemistry.
They stay out of the devils way,
into his territory they don’t go
they ask Jesus to shine His light
so in the darkness ~ He will glow.
Those who love the Lord,
in this world ~ they don’t mesh
for they know there is no joy
in the works of the flesh!

There is a God in heaven,
He’s looking down on us
He sees the ones who doubt
notices the ones who trust.
In times of distress He sees,
man’s need for Him to impart
His help and assistance
so their red sea, He can part.
In times of persecution,
while under intense sternness
those who call upon His name
will escape, their fiery furnace.
In times of opposition,
when sentenced to a living hell
His love sets the captive free
from judgment’s prison cell.
There is a God in Heaven,
He’s ready to save us
help us through our troubles
if in Him ~ we will trust!

I haven’t seen Jesus,
but, I know Him none the less
by faith, I can see Him clearly
His love for me I profess.
I haven’t felt His touch,
His physical hand, I’ve not held
but His presence in my life
He has not hidden or withheld.
My ears haven’t heard His voice,
but, I listen for His inflections
and I can hear Him distinctly
giving me advice and directions.
I know He loves this sinner,
for He has gazed into my heart
though the world may judge me
mercy and forgiveness He imparts.
I have not heard or touched Him,
nor have I’ve seen Jesus’ face
but, one thing I know for sure
I am saved by His grace!

The winter of the soul . . .
is a cold and lonely season
when it doesn’t understand
the intention or the reason.
The bitter winds that come,
chills it to the marrow
with each gust that blows
it feels like a poison arrow.
The freezing rain and sleet,
seizes up its every tear
they become like icicles
encased with all its fear.
The winter soul can’t take,
the ills, the weight, the loss
unless the soul is willing
to keep clinging to the cross.
For it is in this icy season,
the soul can find His warmth
and nestle in the comfort
of what God will bring forth.
So, if the battered soul,
is to survive this frosty time
it must be willing to soar
and over each blizzard climb.
Winter in the soul . . .
is a cold and lonely season
but it can find great peace
knowing God has His reason.

Lord, help me navigate,
this raging, angry sea
help me to hear above the roar
the directions You have for me.
Provide for me a safe harbor,
a lifeline I can cling to
till these waves of fear
I am able to steer through.
Let Your Word be my beacon,
so I’ll not get lost in the dark
help me to see past this storm
let Your cross be my landmark.
Though the winds rage all about,
don’t let me be blown away
be the anchor of my soul
till I reach hope’s gateway.
Lord, as the fog surrounds me,
be the horn of my salvation
let Your mercy and grace
help me with the navigation!

There will be times,
we’ll go through the fire
a season of heaviness
so God, can lift us higher.
God tries us as He pleases,
puts our faith to the test
a season where we learn
what He deems for us is best.
Trials and temptation,
refines us better than gold
a season to break free
from the world’s mold.
Troubles will come,
He’ll not spare the rod
seasons like these
brings glory to God.
There will be times,
God takes us through the fire
so our faith to others . . .
will awe and inspire!

1 Peter 1.6-7
King James Version
“Wherein ye greatly rejoice,
though now for a season,
if need be, ye are in heaviness
through manifold temptations:
That the trial of your faith,
being much more precious
than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise
and honour and glory
at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”

When did I become the child,
and my children the parent?
What has happened to me . . .
this phenomenon ~ I should inherit?
I am not old and senile,
I still have all my useful functions
but they act as if . . .
I left my caboose at the junction.
I can still form my words,
believe I know their meaning
but it seems that my every sentence
they are constantly screening.
I still remember my phone number,
can recall my home address
but to them you would think . . .
I’ve forgotten ~ how myself to dress!
I can brush and comb my hair,
even wash my face and hands
but they act as if . . .
I should be put out to the pasture lands.
How did I get so dim-witted,
as they became way too smart
who put this silly notion . . .
into their own aging heart?
When did I become the child,
and my children the parent?
Isn’t this what the Bible calls . . .
children who go errant?

He gazes from above,
He’s looking to find
who is searching for Him
with all their heart and mind.
He sees not a one,
not one who is seeking
all have turned aside
no one for Him is looking.
He looks to the East,
their souls to Him are idle
He scans to the West
they are, their own idols.
He looks to the South,
no – not even one
He looks to the North
their hearts, He has none.
He looks and He looks,
all across the seas
but love for the Lord
isn’t in the hearts of these!

Holy Spirit, my comfort rests,
upon the bosom of Thy breast
You soothe me when I’m in need
I am calm, when to You I heed.
I call out to Thee, upon my bed,
thoughts of peace fill my head
into Thy hands my soul now rests
in Your stillness, I feel blessed.
Oh, my Comforter my fears relieve,
so Thy tranquility, I may receive
come yet closer to me as I pray
show me the truth, light and way.
Holy Spirit, my comfort rests,
You’ll not hear, my protests . . .
abide with me forever more
be my anchor, my soul’s moor!

Oh, to know the peace of God,
to experience its perfect calm
to use His every Word
as our soothing, healing balm.
Then we’d have tranquility,
through the storms of life
we’d soar above the turbulence
riding out the winds of strife.
Oh, to have the serenity of God,
flowing from our weary hearts
to have minds engulfed in stillness
which only His Spirit can impart.
Then we’d have the faith,
to trust God in all things
and the discipline to know
the perfect peace He brings!

Let us return to our First Love,
into the arms of everlasting grace
let our steps be healed and restored
let us earnestly seek God’s face.
Let us repent from our sins,
examine ourselves in His light
let us return to our First Love
with all our soul and might.
Let us turn to the Word of God,
for our path and instruction
let us return to our First Love
for the Way and true direction.
Let us lift our hearts and minds,
give unto God our very soul
let us return to our First Love
so we can once again be whole!

With tattered wings,
God’s eagles fly
but they can’t soar
up too high.
For on their wings,
they carry pain
to reach new heights
would be a strain.
Broken wings,
can’t take on air
life to them
has been so unfair.
Hurt has clipped,
their wings spread
all the eagles know
is what they dread.
Eagles wings,
chained to the past
cannot take off
no matter the draft.
They need Jesus,
to set them free
from all the drama
and its misery.
Only then,
can they soar and fly
when to their past
they let it die!

love known to man
Jesus loves you . . .

Yesterday it was cloudy,
my vision was not clear
and in the gloominess
I only saw what I fear.
Everything was blurred,
nothing made much sense
my troubles looked so huge
oh, so ever immense.
With clouds of doubt all around,
the unknown was looking dim
and I knew I just needed . . .
to continue to trust in Him.
For what I cannot discern,
when I am in the dark
Jesus will show me in His time
and His light He will impart.
Yesterday it was cloudy,
tomorrow may be a sunny day
but for now I’m trusting Jesus
till the clouds blow away!

So long my friend, I’ll miss you,
more than you will know . . .
I’ll miss the grains of grace
that in your blog, you daily sow.
I will miss your knowledge,
the Bible Studies you share
your reminding me always
in this world to be aware.
I will miss your wisdom,
the insights you’ve brought
I’ve grown in the lessons
you so faithfully taught.
You have been a blessing,
a source of my inspiration
for you’ve showered me
with love and appreciation.
You’ve been my on-line pal,
a buddy like no other . . .
it’s like God sent to me
my own blogging brother.
You will be in my prayers,
in my thoughts daily too
and I’ll ask the Lord
to cheer and comfort you.
This is not really goodbye,
for I know we’ll meet one day
and until we do my friend
I send “heavenly hugs” your way!

Feeling a little depressed,
having a hard day
just remember this
hope is a prayer away.
Prayer is the key,
that unlocks our doubt
when we trust Jesus
to figure all things out.
Life in a turmoil,
can’t stand the commotion
just turn to Jesus
with prayer and devotion.
You can tell Jesus,
about your wants and needs
whether you are standing
or down on your knees.
Not sure what to do,
or the way you should go
just speak to Jesus
in your prayers let Him know.
It doesn’t matter where you are,
or if its night or day . . .
so remember this one thing
Jesus is just a prayer away!

When we begin to wander,
go about our own way
the Lord takes notice
knowing we will stray.
As we drift off the path,
of truth and understanding
He knows we’ve departed
from the road everlasting.
He recognizes our error,
He sees that we are inapt
to seek and find for ourselves
the road that’ll take us back.
He won’t leave us for dead,
not one soul, He’d have perish
for every one that He loves
He does forever cherish.
But, He knows we are fragile,
we can’t make it all alone
so, He sends the Holy Spirit
to help and guide us home.
He waits at the door,
to restore the wandering soul
so we can stand before Him
in faith, complete and whole!

If everyone followed,
the rule that is golden
then to these words
they would feel beholden.
If you want to be forgiven,
you must learn to forgive
if you want encouragement
affirmation you must give.
If you feel hurt and wounded,
in need of a gentle touch
you will need to be sensitive
when to pain, others clutch.
If need to be understood,
you must show others grace
if you want compassion
mercy you need to embrace.
If you don’t like gossip,
then watch what you say
If you don’t want to be judged,
then turn your cheek away.
If you’re in need of friends,
with sympathetic ears
yours too must be willing
to be thoughtful to all it hears.
If you want to be treated kindly,
you must first treat other’s so
for, I’ve read it in the Bible . . .
we shall reap what we sow!

Lord, today I looked in the mirror,
and I didn’t like what I saw
for I looked past my wrinkles
and saw my spiritual flaws.
All that I could see,
was my selfishness and pride
from the yuck and ugliness
I couldn’t run and hide.
When will I ever learn,
to put others first . . .
Lord, how much longer
till my ego, will You burst.
My self-importance,
is haughtiness evil twin
and arrogance and conceit
to You, is just plain sin.
Lord, today I looked in the mirror,
I witnessed what others see
and I’m sad to say it’s a far cry . . .
of Your image inside me!

Are you feeling trapped,
caught in the devil’s snare
do you feel as if . . .
you’re not going anywhere?
Jesus can set you free,
He’s the Redeemer of your soul
the great Physician who came
to heal and make you whole.
Are you brokenhearted,
has life treated you unfair
are the burdens in your mind
just too much for you to bear?
Jesus can bring you comfort,
He is our good Samaritan
He will take away from you

Are you parched and famished,

do you feel deprived and poor?
Jesus can satisfy all your needs,
for He is the Bread of Life

are no longer slaves to their strife.
Are you feeling trapped,

Then you need to come to Jesus
and claim your heavenly treasury!

Sometimes I wander,
through the valleys of my soul
lingering near the streams of life
when I felt well and whole.
I ponder the times Jesus filled in,
the empty and void space
where His love for me flowed
like a river full of endless grace.
As I stroll along the rugged clefts,
I can see the hard times too
as I roam all around them
His mercy for me shines through.
I reflect on the days and nights,
when I thought I was on my own
but now I can see how Jesus
never once, left me all alone.
I come across the mountains,
that I had to hike up to . . .
some of them I never thought
the hard climb, I could ever do.
But there I see Jesus,
standing upon the crest
calling down to me
“Come, I’ll give you rest.”
Sometimes I like to wander,
through life’s hills and dells
and go deep into my soul
where grace and mercy dwells.

There is a bridge you can take,
it leads to water’s living . . .
it’s there you’ll find peace
merciful and forgiving.
Over trials and tribulations,
it will take you across
the span of His loving hands
will lead you to the cross.
It is a bridge of assurance,

much better than the past.

will take faith to get through
and Jesus is the bridge linking

Where has Your church gone,
where are Your chosen ones?
Your name is no longer,
on their lips and tongues.
Where is their devotion,
where are their words of praise?
On their lips and tongues,
their love for You, they don’t raise.
Where have all the faithful gone,
where are they now?
On their lips and tongues,
they no longer keep their vow.
Where are the godly teachers,
who speak against immorality?
One their lips and tongues,
they preach a new-age reality.
Where has Your bride gone,
to where has it run off?
On their lips and tongues,
Your holy Word they now scoff!

Hold on tight,
hang onto that rope . . .
trust and believe
there is always hope.
For when you get to the end,
there’s only one place to go
so just pour out your heart
let your troubles God know.
Hold on tight,
don’t loose your grip . . .
trust and believe
and into God’s arm slip.
For He is waiting,
to carry your cares
when you give them over
to Him in your prayers.
So when you are ready,
to let go ~ and let Him
grab onto Jesus’ hand
your hope is therein!

Hebrews 3:6
King James Version
“But Christ as a son over his own house;
whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence
and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.”

Sometimes, it takes a broken heart,
that God has to repair and mend
sometimes, it takes one crushed
by a loved one or a friend.
Sometimes, He needs a heart,
that is full of grief and pain
sometimes, it takes one mournful
filled with regret and shame.
Sometimes, He needs a heart,
suffering one blow after blow
sometimes, it takes one sorrowful
so His mercy He can show.
Sometimes, He needs a heart,
shattered and torn
sometimes, it takes one regretful
full of self-contempt and scorn.
Sometimes, God needs your heart,
broken and beaten down
so He may come into your life
and turn your world around.
Sometimes, it takes a broken heart,
that finally seeks His face
sometimes, it takes a broken spirit
to receive the fullness of His grace!

and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.”

He sets the captive free,
from the blindness within
releases the binds of guilt
the shamefulness of our sin.
He loosens the chains,
makes love out of hate
unshackles our burdens
eases the heavy weight.
He heals the backslidden,
freedom is now in sight
the yoke of oppression
we no longer have to fight
He scours out the darkness,
in His light, there is power
with grace and mercy
our lives, He empowers.
No longer are we slaves,
to man and his laws
now we come before God
with holy fear and awe.
Oh, what a privilege,
no longer are we bound
free indeed at last . . .
our liberty in Jesus found!

Unrelenting grace,
never gives up . . .
flows abundantly
from hope’s eternal cup.
Unremitting mercy,
unstoppable compassion
flows with the blood
of Jesus’ undying passion.
Unavoidable forgiveness,
unchangeable love
flows down like manna
from the heaven above.
Unrelenting grace,
unyielding persistence
over came the world
to win man’s resistance.

Your very name is written,
on the palms of God’s hands
no one, not even the devil
can pluck you from His plans.
God is emotionally attached,
He is always thinking of you
for you there is not one thing
He is not able or willing to do.
His love for you runs deep,
you are always in His sight
He sees you through the lens
of salvation’s glorious light.
He sees through the walls,
causing your misery and pain
and into your soul and heart
He want’s to rule and reign.
Your very name is written,
etched in the scars on Jesus’ hands
He wants you to see and believe
for you He has eternal plans!

Isaiah 49:16
King James Version
“Behold, I have graven thee upon
the palms of my hands;
thy walls are continually before me.”

God forbid, I accept His grace,
then continue in my sin
shall I not let the old man die
so He can have victory within?
Is not holiness or godliness,
a thought not just to entertain
but one that I must put on
if in Christ, I am to remain?
Is grace so freeing,
that God’s Word plays no part
or shall it be every temptation
still takes hold of my heart?
Am I not to cast off the rags,
of my unrighteousness
or do I still hold onto the filth
the fallen state of my wickedness?
God forbid, I accept His grace,
asking Him for more and more
God forbid, I continue in my sin
and expect to enter heaven’s door!

Romans 6:2
King James Version
“What shall we say then?
Shall we continue in sin,
that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we,
that are dead to sin,
live any longer therein?”

When trials come at you,
from every source and way
when they sleep with you at night
and awaken with you each day.
When they come out of nowhere,
attacking you from all sides
laying their angry claws into you
shredding you apart inside.
That is when you need to go,
to the One who truly cares
to the One who promises . . .
that our burdens, He will bear.
Jesus, will take your troubles,
your worries, He will lessen
and the dilemma you are in
will become an everlasting lesson.
So, next time your trials,
have you wallowing in tears
give them all to Jesus . . .
and He’ll bring your heart cheer.

but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
