I tithe and go to church,
I help the needy and poor
but nothing I do . . .
will open heaven’s door.
I read and study,
my Bible every day
I get on my knees
whenever I pray.
I follow the golden rule,
I share the Good Word
but none of this makes me
a sheep in heaven’s herd.
I don’t cuss or swear,
I am gentle and kind
and the peace of God
fills up my heart and mind.
I am faithful and devoted,
I am loyal and just
but none of these actions
are a heaven’s must.
My salvation doesn’t come,
from the good things I do
my own efforts . . .
won’t make heaven come true.
All I need is God’s grace,
to enter into His Kingdom
and faith in Jesus to go . . .
from works to eternal freedom!

Galatians 2:16
King James Version
“Knowing that a man
is not justified by the works of the law,
but by the faith of Jesus Christ,
even we have believed in Jesus Christ,
that we might be justified
by the faith of Christ,
and not by the works of the law:
for by the works
of the law shall no flesh
be justified.”
