Slow me down Lord,
help me to take the time
to see You’re more important
than this life of mine.
Slow me down Lord,
sometimes I move too fast
I get so distracted to even notice
that it was You, I have passed.
Slow me down Lord,
help me to stay close to You
let me see You’re more worthy
than anything I have to do.
Slow me down Lord,
it seems I’m always on the run
and so often Your voice
I just put off and shun.
Slow me down Lord,
help me to put You first . . .
help me to see if I don’t my soul
will always hunger and thirst!

do mind the things of the flesh;

the things of the Spirit.”

I haven’t read all of your poems (working on it), but so far this is my favorite. A critical message and very well written!

I wrote this poem way back in my twenties as a mother of three all under the age of three! I revised it some 40 years later . . . with the need to still slow down! I now take more time, (probably because my body and mind just cant get there as fast as they did before) and spend it reflecting on the Word of God and what it has done and still is doing in my life. Thank you for taking the time to read my poetry and pray God will use them to bless you! ~ In Christ, Deborah Ann ~

Hello,I’m so grateful for the poems I receive from you. I’m a young adult who is getting ready for adulthood. I’m so much inlove with this poem,”Slow Me Down,Lord”. This is so real because in this stage of my life,we are busy trying to find a good carereer, the right husband and all that, and we get too busy for the Lord. This poem helps me realise that. It is my humble request that I share this poems with my young adults fellowship at church,I think they need t hear them. I would also like you to give us more poems on Faithfulness, being faithfull as a single young woman. Thank you.

Yes, please feel free to use this poem for you young adult fellowship. I remember way back when and I wished I had slowed down and been wiser with my decisions. I went to church, but had no bible study or fellowship group with other young Christians and most of my friends were secular. I feel that if the Lord had been at the center of my life back than I would be a different person today. So I applaud you and your young friends who are desiring to put the Lord first and foremost in your life. I pray His Spirit will lead you and guide you in the years to come. I will think of some poems to write on faithfulness and staying the course for young women and will post them on my blog. I will email you and let you know which ones they are ~ God Bless you and keep you in His loving care ~

I feel so sorry for all those people who don’t know the Lord, so many people never learn what they are so thirsty and a lot of Christians are to busy to stop and explain it to them.

Yes, and I know I pass by many of them everyday. I just need to slow down and focus more on Jesus so I can be more effective. ~ Blessings ~
