Yesterday ~ I met a man and his dog,
out on the street . . .
he was worn and ragged
said his dog needed a treat.
He scared and alarmed me,
when I said I had nothing to give
he cussed and swore at me
for the life, he had to live.
I quickly walked to my car,
he followed closely after me
screaming and yelling . . .
“Are your eyes to blind to see?”
I started to drive away,
ready to call the police . . .
when a still voice spoke to me
and gave me much peace.
I didn’t have much money,
but I gave it all to the man
and said I was sorry . . .
his troubles I didn’t understand.
I told him about God,
about new life in His Son
where mercy and grace
would undo the sins he’d done.
I don’t know if he heard,
don’t know if he cares
but the man and his dog,
will always be in my prayers!

Yes Deb, it took place in the parking lot at a local mall. I was pretty frightened as I walked to my car. When I got in I picked up my cell phone to call the police but then the Lord told me to go and apologize to the man for being rude when he asked me for some money. I only had a five dollar bill so that is all I gave him, but hopefully I gave him a chance to find forgiveness for his sins in Jesus. ~ Blessings ~

What a very powerful message Deb! It gives each one of us – me- much to think and pray about.

It was not a normal thing for me to do. I know the Lord had me drive over to the man. There is only one other time that I have done this and both times I knew the Lord asked me to speak with these men. I have Billy Graham’s Peace With God tracts with me at all times and gave both of them one with the money! The Lord works in mysterious ways!!!

Yes he did and I would not of gone back up to the man if it were not the Holy Spirit leading me. I pray for the homeless and feel bad for them wondering what has caused them to be homeless in the first place. ~ Blessings BIG time sis ~

They do have a terrible burden, regardless what put them in their present situation.

Yes, indeed they do. Whatever droves them to the streets is something they could not have wanted. It is a sad thing regardless of why they are there . . . it is just not right!

We always should try to see people as Jesus sees them. A very hard thing to do sometimes, however, that is what we are called to do.

When the man asked me for money my response was very rude, not Christ like at all, and though he scared me with all his screaming and cussing when I got into my car the Holy Spirit convicted me of my attitude. So I went and found him and told him God wanted me to apologize to him and to give him some money. I pray our conversation about Jesus will be a seed that can grow in his heart. ~ Blessings ~
