Today in the church,
it’s hard for me to find
those who are seeking Jesus
with all their hearts and minds.
I listen to the preacher’s sermons,
I read the teacher’s blogs
but sometimes it feels as if
I am in a decomposing bog.
It seems the truth is decaying,
there’s no fine line in the sand
and I wonder if Jesus . . .
for their foolishness would stand.
I know all about forgiveness,
and the gift of His eternal grace
but to continue on in sin . . .
is to God ~ a disgrace.
Years ago, Jesus told the women,
He’d not condemn her for her sin
but then He warned her . . .
not to go and sin again.
Sin is sin,
no matter how you look at it
and today in the church
the sinner comfortably sits.
It’s no longer popular,
to speak against sinful things
it’s all about God’s love . . .
and the wealth that it brings.
But, God is more than love,
He has another side of Him too
and one day He’ll bring His wrath
upon the sin that His people do.
So, I am desperately seeking Jesus,
in the new age church of today and
if I cannot find the truth I think . . .
I’ll just stay away!

John 8:10-11
King James Version
“When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman,
he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers?
hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord.
And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee:
and sin no more.”

This poem is powerfully, yet sadly true. Same as you, we haven’t gone to church in a long while either. Our hope remains in the Lord, but it’s too bad so many who claim to follow Him are actually choosing to follow themselves… They are missing the point, and we are all missing out 😦 ❤

Yes, I agree we are all missing out when the truth has been watered down the light doesn’t reflect as it should. ~ Blessings ~

It’s not easy. Many church leaders are more interested in being liked and keeping their jobs than in telling the truth. But not all. The speaking the truth in love preachers are out there. Seek and you will find one.

No it is not easy anymore. I find some of my favorite pastors on the web and lesson to their sermons. I have too many painful memories right now to go back out to find that truth speaking, God fearing church… Maybe one day. ~ Blessings ~

I would love to hear that message . . . do you still have where you heard it from? If so send me the link. I just feel that today it’s so too easy to become a Christian and so many that think they are saved . . . may not be! ~ Blessings ~

I loved your thoughts on this Heidi and posted a comment for you there. I am desperately seeking Jesus’ every truth and having a hard time finding it. Some pastors won’t even read or preach from the book of Revelation and that scares me . . . because it is where this world is headed and we need to hear the truth about the churches of the end times. ~ Blessings to you and keep on with your search for understanding and wisdom ~

I just read that comment and really appreciated it!! I hear what you are saying. The post I wrote this morning originally had a different title, “entitlement issues” … I think so many of us think we are entitled to God’s grace and forget that, in reality, we are ONLY entitled to hell and damnation … we try to give people the Gospel and forget to tell them why they need it … 😦 Thanks for your faithful heart, sister.

Sis Deb,
This was a powerful prophetic word for the church today. May the Lord bless you for boldly speaking the truth in love to the church. No longer can they claim they didn’t know.
With much love,
Cheryl

Yes, I am desperate in finding my Lord and Savior beyond His command to love . . . He also commands us not to continue in sin. Today’s churches are welcoming sin to come and sit in their pews but won’t speak against the sin. The blind are leading the blind and in the end there will be a heavy price to pay. This burdens my heart and grieves my soul. ~ Blessings ~

Amen – it grieves me and burdens my heart as well. So many who don’t know any better are being led to hell, because their pastor is afraid of offending them and possibly losing their tithes and offerings. Many will preach about bringing their tithes to the storehouse, but wouldn’t dare speak against fornication and adultery or homosexuality or even the gossip and backstabbing that takes place within their churches. Many leaders of the church also engage in these sins, but they need a Sunday School teacher or a choir director, so they turn a blind eye to their sins.
The sad thing is that they themselves will be held accountable for both the words they have spoken and the words they have not spoken…
