Some days it is so easy,
to run the faithful race
for I know at the finish line
I’m going to see Jesus’ face.
When my eyes are on the goal,
of meeting Jesus at the end
I run with confidence
around every twist and bend.
Then there are the days,
when I am not up to the race
for I’m running in my pride
not in the favor of His grace.
It’s funny how on those days,
every hurdle becomes a trap
and I feel like giving up
before I make another lap.
I know to run the good race,
on Jesus, I need to concentrate
if I’m going to see the insides
of heaven’s pearly gates.
I know to be dedicated,
to keep on ~ keeping on . . .
I’ll need God’s strength
and the Holy Spirit’s brawn!

Philippians 3:14

for the prize of the high calling
of God in Christ Jesus.”

We all need God’s strength to get through the pearly gates. An essential prayer for every Christian. Thank you for sharing. God bless you!

Deborah, this captures the true spirit of the “race” that we run daily. Those days when the race is easier? Those are the days I spent some time with Jesus before starting. The other days? I tried to get going too early and jumped the gun, trying to do it in my own strength. I cannot get to the prize without Him, because without Him I can do nothing (John 15:5)

And sometimes I have to “walk” portions of the course, like today. God bless you–love, sis Caddo

Yes, walking seems to be a lot better than running. I don’t need to be in such a hurry, just as long as I get there! ~ God’s big time blessings too you sis ~

You’re a wise woman–I don’t know why I’ve been taking the “Running” the race part so literally. Think I’ll just walk–and get there all in one piece! God bless your dear heart, and I Mean It!!

At my age walking is a whole lot safer as running isn’t good for my poor old degenerative spine . . . and it hurts a whole lot less! Big time blessings to you as you walk the race with me 🙂
