What is This Unruly Thing ~

What is this wild thing,
that my mouth has inside
what causes it to lash about
in its smugness and its pride?

How can it sing praises to God,
then chant ~ its curses to man
what is this wild thing . . .
that says whatever it thinks it can?

What causes it to be so untamed,
without a bridle or a rein
what can I do to control this thing
that has its own heart and brain?

Why does it speak such evil,
and at times act out so bad
what is this wild thing . . .
that gets so angry and mad?

Who can restrain this unruly thing,
that is filled with poison and fire
who can tame this beastly thing
that’s filled with worldly desire?

What is this unruly thing,
that my mouth has inside
what causes it to lash about . .  .
other than my own selfish pride!

James 3:8
King James Version

“But the tongue
can no man tame;
it is an
unruly evil,
full of deadly poison.”

May I Be Found Guilty!

Live It

When I get to heaven . . .
I hope to be found guilty of
living my life like my Savior
with unconditional love.

May I be convicted,
of trusting  in the good Word
for believing with all my heart
the truth that I’ve heard.

May I be found at fault,
for walking faithfully in His ways
for serving Him joyfully
with a heart full of praise.

May I be held responsible,
for running a committed race
for trusting God for His strength
having  perseverance in my pace.

May I be  held accountable,
for the way I lived my life
for giving Jesus my burdens
and all of my daily strife.

May I be at fault,
for being to God, too thankful
for giving Jesus all my love
always to Him, being grateful.

When I get to heaven . . .
I hope to be found guilty of
accepting His grace and mercy
and the gift of eternal love!

Jude 1:21
King James Version

“Keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our
Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”

Lord, Shine Your Face on Me

Thy Mercy by Daniel Hicks free photo #1859

Lord, may Your face shine,
upon my hurting heart today
for I am just too weary . . .
to face another dreary day.

Cause Your ears to hear,
the supplications of my prayer
for I so need to know
that for me ~ You still care.

Cause Your eyes to see,
the broken wing of this sparrow
for I need Your love to flow
thick throughout my marrow.

Cause Your mouth to bless,
the tenderness of my soul
for I so want once again
to be complete and whole.

Lord, make Your face shine,
upon my hurting heart today
heal me for ~  forgiveness sake
and wash my tears away!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Psalm 31:16
New King James Version
“Make Your face shine upon Your servant;
Save me for Your mercies’ sake.”
Oh, These Twilight Years . . .
Conversations by Laurie  Cosgrove free photo #4047
Twilight, twilight years,
oh, Dear Lord you know my fears
please forgive vanities tears
in these twilight years. . .
Brunette hair turning gray,
getting thinner every day
even with all the goop and spray
it goes its own crazy, wild way.
In these twilight years . . .
Arms that once were firm and thin,
now have flabby, wiggle skin
a face once with a velvety grin
now has a hairy upper lip and chin.
In these twilight years. . .
Eyesight going faint and dim,
cataracts make things look too grim
can no longer see the baskets rim
when I go to the old folk’s gym.
In these twilight years . . .
Oh Lord, please give me the grace,
to accept the changes I must face
time is now on its final race
I don’t know how to beat its pace.
In these twilight years. . .
Hearing is no longer at its peak,
everything sounds a little weak
I shout and yell when I speak
sounding like a shrieking geek.
In these twilight years . . .
Forgetting my children’s name,
they make fun of me like it’s a game
but the truth is I feel so lame
they don’t even look the same.
In these twilight years . . .
Where’s it, where’s it, where is it,
I can’t remember where I put it
hunting till I lose both my mind and wit
I search till dawn before I finally quit.
In these twilight years . . .
There’s plenty more to my tale,
but, I choose not to tell
except, I also lost my sense of smell
and my feet and ankles sometimes swell
but, then I don’t want to dwell
On these twilight years. . .
There’s No Hitchin’ A Ride ~
It’s His way or the wrong way,
there can be no other road
it’s His way or the long way
with sin’s burden as your load.
It’s the cursed and risky path,
that leads to self-destruction
it’s the safe and secure path
that leads to God’s instruction.
It’s His way or the easy way,
the decision is ours to make
it’s His way or the mistaken way
we choose the pathway to take.
It’s the wide and sinful way,
that leads to death and endless hell
it’s the narrow and righteous way
that leads to where Jesus dwells.
It’s the highway or the low way,
there’s no hitchin’ a ride
for when we perish . . .
it’ll be too late to decide!
Proverbs 16:17
King James Version
“The highway of the upright
is to depart from
evil;
He who keeps his way
All That I Need ~
All That I Need ~ CHRISTian poetryby deborah ann
All that I need, God is it,
all that I was, He has seen
all of the pieces finally fit
for He is all that I need.
All that I desire, He gives,
all that I want, He has got
all of my sins, He forgives
for He is all that I need.
All that I am, He holds,
all that I can be, He knows
all of my life, He molds
for He is all that I need.
All that I must do, He has done,
all that I can do, is to believe
all of my hope, is in His Son
for He is all that I need!
Until Heaven We Be
Heaven 2 by  Jon Kenney free photo #5361
His peace was mine today,
I’ll claim it for tomorrow
it shall sustain me through
this time of grief and sorrow.
His comfort was mine today,
I know it will always be
for He promises to ease the hurt
crushing, the insides of me.
His light was mine today,
I saw it shine in my despair
I know that in His time
my heart He will repair.
He held my hand today,
walked me through the pain
I know He’ll keep holding it
until  heaven ~ we be again.
My Bible is Like a Computer ~
Saved by Andrw Gruner free photo #18906
My Bible is like a computer,
God is the Father board
where all His personal data
is backed up, saved and stored.
When I boot up the Good Book,
there’s a full menu bar to look at
a list of His commands pop up
so with God I can have a chat.
There are plenty of applications,
that I always have access to
I paste them to my clipboard
for future studying and review.
Each verse has it own control key,
that keeps me pressing on . . .
I sort them in my soul’s hard drive
and burn them on my heart’s CD ROM.
Sometimes my memory is short,
and I can’t remember a Scripture
so I launch my anti-verse program
to debug the fuzzy picture.
When I feel like I’m freezing up,
or when I’m feeling fragmented
I search for my favorite passages
to ensure a crash is prevented.
I still have a lot of virtual memory,
to download and file all I’ve learned
so I’ll install an anti-sin protector
to insure I don’t crash or burn.
My uninterruptible power source,
has its own surge suppressor
and I count on the Holy Bible
to be my anti-Christ protector.
My Bible is like a computer,
it has a powerful control panel
the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
is all my database will handle!
Praise Him No Matter What ~
Praise Him in The Storm by Daniel Sauceda free photo #15589
Lord, I’ll praise You in the quietness,
when my soul is at perfect rest
I’ll praise You in the peaceful times
when I am feeling oh, so blessed.
I’ll praise You while in the valley,
when my spirit is feeling low
I’ll praise You in the darker times
when I’m not sure which way to go.
I’ll praise You from the mountain top,
when my heart with You is right
I’ll praise You in each shinning victory
when I’m soaking in Your light.
I’ll praise You in the storms that blow,
when my soul is tossed about
I’ll praise You in the billowing waves
when I am struggling with self-doubt.
Lord, I’ll praise You in the quietness,
when my soul is oh, so blessed
I’ll praise You in the strongest gusts
for I know You’ll give me perfect rest!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Psalm 46:1-3
King James Version

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed,
and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
though the waters thereof roar and be troubled,
though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

Look What Jesus Can Do ~

Break through by Brad Castaneda free photo #3586

He makes the blind eye see,
the lame to up and walk
He gives life to the dead
the mute, He makes to talk.

He turns water into wine,
sends manna from above
gives peace and hope to all
though unconditional love.

He stills the storms at sea,
calms the roaring  in the wave
He brings strength to the weak
the meek, He makes brave.

He casts out all the demons,
make them run and flee
He loosens the yokes that bind
to set the captives free.

He forgives the adulterer,
the murder and the thief
He breaks through the stony heart
bringing it, His sweet relief.

He died for man, of every kind,
to  bring eternal, blissful life
by taking upon Himself
the burdens of our strife.

Jesus did all of this,
and so . . .  so much more
think what He can do for you
if  His heart you would explore!

Fill Her Up!

Running on Empty by Jonathan Fox free photo #2429
Sometimes ~  my hope tank gets empty,
it runs dry and I start to rust
until I refill it with God’s promise
that in Jesus, I can always trust.

Sometimes ~ my faith tank is half-full,
I get too tired to take another leap
until I remember that to Jesus
I’ll always be,  His precious little sheep.

Sometimes ~ my confidence tank is low,
it feels as if I’m going to drown
until I remember what makes my hope float
then Jesus pulls me safely to the ground.

Sometimes ~ I just run out of  fuel,
there is not a drop that is left in me
until I remember  it is Jesus
that  in heaven I am gonna  see!

Renew Us Lord ~

Faith, Hope, Love by Linda B Raine free photo

Lord, renew in us Your love,
each and every day . . .
may it be the first thing we ask
when we start to pray.

Remind us of Your hope,
how it will not ever pass away
build us up in confidence
so our faith will never go astray.

Fill us with Your peace,
quiet the troubles in our mind
take away the barriers
so Your tranquility we can find.

Remind us You are the God,
of yesterday and today
how You have our tomorrows
so we don’t need to be afraid.

Whisper in our ears,
how much for us You care
tell us a hundred times over
for us You’ll always be there.

Lord, renew in us Your love,
each and every day . . .
may it be the first thing we seek
so by Your side we’ll always stay!

Die, Old Man, Die

Die, old man, die
get thee out of my way
I want nothing of yours
so just die and go away.

Die, old man, die
I have no use for you
die to self and to flesh
for in Christ I am new.

Die, old man, die,
I’ll not follow your lead
die to worldly ambition
for Jesus is all that I need.

Die, old man, die,
you don’t rule this heart
die to all that is keeping
Christ and I apart.

Die, old man, die,
I will not let you win
die to all the trappings
I won’t give in to sin.

Die, old man, die,
get thee out of my way
for I will die to you . . .
so flee from me I say!

The Dew of Dawn ~

Grassy Dawn ny Megan Watson free photo #11985

Each new day is a blessing,
a present from God to unfold
a time to open up our hearts
so His beauty we can behold.

Upon dawns cracking hour,
God calls us to be renewed
with the morning light comes
the refreshing drops of dew.

He gives the blessing of unity,
upon the rising of the sun
sends the gift of His Spirit
along with the love of His Son.

Each new day God gives us,
let’s renew for Him our love
and spread everlasting joy
like His dew drops from above!

Blessed are The Poor In Spirit ~

Blessed Are by Joe Cacazos free photo #5225

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
those who trust God and His Son
those who are spiritually bankrupt
who have a need ~ for no other one.

Blessed are the hopelessly condemned,
those who acknowledge their sin
those who accept their shortcomings
who know of the darkness that’s within.

Blessed are the morally destitute,
those who are full of iniquity’s decay
those who recognize their wickedness
who are beggars on the narrow way.

Blessed are the unrighteous,
those who have a depressive condition
those who live in pious poverty
who finally see their own transgression.

Blessed are those empty of all pride,
those who are conscious of their greed
those who believe Jesus paid their debt
who know that God’s love is all they need.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven
they believe in God’s power and favor
for when they repent They are forgiven!

Our Strength ~

imagesCATMXNWL

There is not a fear,
that Jesus can’t conquer
there is not an enemy
that He can’t capture.

There is not a problem,
that Jesus can’t solve
there is not a dilemma
that He can’t resolve.

There is not a burden,
that Jesus can’t lift
there is not a load
that He can’t shift.

There is not a need,
that Jesus can’t provide
there is not a sea
that He can’t divide.

There is not a darkness,
that Jesus can’t make light
there is not a sin
that He can’t make right.

There is not a moment,
that Jesus isn’t there
there is not one soul
for which He doesn’t care!

He Lifts Me Up ~

Once I was broken,
beaten and down
then came my Savior
to bring me around.

Who would believe it,
who would have known
that Jesus thought of me
as one of His own!

He lifts me up,
high off the ground
making my steps
solid and sound.

Heavenly blessings,
He wants to give
sinful indiscretions
He came to forgive.

Angels of mercy,
He sends my way
helping me to walk
on these feet of clay.

He lifts me up,
high off the ground
making my steps
solid and sound.

Lifting me up,
keeping me secure
raising me above
each tempting lure.

Watching and waiting,
for each step I take
sending forgiveness
for each slip, I make.

He lifts me up,
high off the ground
keeping my steps
from hell’s fiery bound!

out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock,

Blessed are Those Who Mourn

Blessed Are by Joe Cacazos free photo #5225

Blessed are those who mourn,
those who see their lost condition
those whose heart for God are broken
who feel the sting of their affliction.

Blessed are those who are suffering,
those who see the effects of their sin
those who know of the pain of rebellion
who can feel the ache deep within.

Blessed are those who are distressed,
those who are awake to their sad state
those who are miserable and troubled
who can see the flames at hell’s gate.

Blessed are those who feel remorseful,
those who understands God’s great grief
those who have been a part of this world
who know that Jesus came to give relief.

Blessed are those who are sober-minded,
those who feel the weight of their offense
those who have been washed and forgiven
who now come to their Savior’s defense.

Blessed are those who mourn,
for they shall have eternal peace
they too will be comforted while on earth
for they know God’s love  will never cease!

Light Bearers ~

Light Bearers ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Bible preachers, mercy teachers,
sharing with all the Good News
heart keepers, soul reapers
follow the footprints of His shoes.

Love producers, peace makers,
helping all those who are in need
grace imparters, faith informers
looking for His lost sheep to feed.

Salt shakers, ice breakers,
paving the way with His saving light
God seekers, Jesus searchers
exposing the good and faithful fight.

Sin stoppers, temptation busters,
keeping those from the pit of hell
favor dealers, heaven takers
with salvation’s love story to tell.

Light bearers, problem sharers,
coming together in healing prayer
truth holders, His soldiers
confessing Jesus, because we dare!

Hearts Linked to Jesus ~

Hearts by Sandra Lee free photo #7049

Hearts rooted in Jesus,
create a chain of His love
encouraging one another
in the things of above.

Sharing and bearing,
others grief and pain
hearts linked to Jesus . . .
form up His prayer chain.

Caring and carrying,
others worries and woes
hearts joined to Jesus . . .
turn to the One who knows.

Trusting and believing,
all things are in His hands
hearts connected to Jesus . . .
understand His eternal plans.

Faithful and loyal,

His Wing’s Shadow ~

Under the shadow of Your wings,
where no sun or rain will blind
where Thy loving-kindness waits
to fill hearts with peace of mind.

Under the shadow of Your wings,
where no storm or wind will meet
where Thy grace inspires calm
to give the weary heart retreat.

Under the shadow of Your wings,
where no fear or doubt will soar
where Thy steadfast love exists
to help grieving hearts restore.

Under the shadow of Your wings,
where no pain or hurt will be
where Thy goodness is prepared
to bring broken hearts to Thee.

Under the shadow of Your wings,
where no star or moon will fade
where Thy mercies reach forever
to heal hearts that are afraid.

Oh, precious is Your loving kindness,
where our trust can mount and rise
where unfailing love gives assurance
Your wing’s shadow protects our cries.

Getting Me a Trim!

Branches by Terry Lane free photo #18423

I’m being pruned to be,
a whole lot more like Him
God is cutting away
each fruitless, useless limb.

He’s sniping at my pride,
my smugness and my ego
so His life in mine . . .
will finally start to show.

He’s trimming each branch,
until their shaped and formed
He isn’t going to stop until
in Him I am transformed.

He’s cutting out the dead wood,
striping back what is loathed
until each new branch
in Him is fully clothed.

Although at first it hurts,
all this cutting and trimming
I know that one day to Him
I’m going to look amazing.

I’m being cut and snipped,
God’s pruning me limb by limb
until I resemble someone . . .
who looks a whole lot like Him!

and every branch that
beareth fruit, he purgeth it

I’m Pressing On ~

I'm Pressing On ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I’m pressing on,
till these problems are gone
I’m moving forward
with my eyes looking heaven ward.

I’m trusting God,
and the guidance of His rod
I’m letting go
knowing the way He will show.

I’m going slowly,
keeping my life before Him lowly
I’m praying that my Savior
will soon grant me His favor.

I’m believing in His leading,
and I’m practicing my heeding
I’m doing my best
and letting God do the rest.

I’m pressing on,
till these problems are gone
I’m pressing towards the goal
with all my heart and soul!

Be A Doer ~

Be a doer of the Word,
read your Bible and then act
don’t just be a Gospel hearer
you must give something back.

You can lend a helping hand,
or give someone else your ear
let everyone know you will be
a friend who is always near.

Pray for those who ask you to,
and more so, for those who don’t
pray for their salvation
because you know they won’t.

Look for the good in others,
most people see their weakness
let them know Jesus loves them
and sees their uniqueness.

There’s so much that you can do,
to help other people out
all you have to do is ask them
what their worries are all about.

If you don’t have the answers,
I know just where to look
for the Truth, the Way, and the Light
are written in the Good Book!

I Surrender ~

I Surender ~ CHRISTIan poetry by deborah ann
Father, I surrender,
there is nothing right I can do
it’s time for me to turn
my life over entirely to only You.

I surrender,
all that I have come to own
all my earthy possessions
the worldly pleasures I’ve known.

I surrender,
this mind of pointless thought
I give to You this wretched spirit
for the one,  for me You bought.

I surrender,
my secular greedy plans
I hand them over one-by-one
for those in my Masters hands.

I surrender,
all the dreams that I hold on to
I offer all my selfish delusions
Father, I give them all to You.

Father, I surrender,
this heart made of sand and stone
I yield my life to my Savior
who sits with You upon Your throne!

Galatians 2:20

nevertheless I live;

yet not I,

I live by the faith

who loved me, and gave
himself for me.”

The Mystery Of His Love

Lord, I cannot illustrate,
the mystery of Your love
for it rises higher
than the moon above.

I cannot measure it,
not the distance or the length
I cannot grasp it
not its power or its strength.

I cannot calculate it,
not the width or the depth
I cannot fathom it
for I can’t analyze its breadth.

I cannot describe it,
not how near or how far
I cannot spell out it
for I can’t explain where You are.

I cannot imagine it,
beyond what my eyes can see
and yet I am amazed
that to infinity ~ You love me.

Lord, I cannot illustrate
this mystery from above
yet I know I cannot live without
Your everlasting love!

Ephesians 3:17-19
King James Version

“That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
May be able to comprehend with all saints
what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.”

The Lord is My Savior ~

Names of Jesus by Andrew Haight free photo #3974

The Lord is my Savior,
what more do I need
when I am hungry
on His Word, I feed.

He renews my spirit,
in the verses I read
He calms my soul
when to His ways I heed.

Through I have troubles,
I have nothing to fear
for I know my Lord
will always be near.

He brings me relief,
when I lean on His promise
to lead and guide me
out of the darkness.

He’s preparing me a place,
with His blood I’m anointed
in Him, my joy overflows
I’ll not be disappointed.

His justice and forgiveness,
in my heart I will store
until the day I meet  Him
upon heaven’s shore.

The Lord is my Savior . . .
what more do I need!

Jesus Will See You Through ~

Though your mind is weary,
and your spirit is feeling small
though your load is heavy
and your tears are like a waterfall.

Though the trial before you,
looks like the tallest mountain peak
and the hardship you now must face
is making you feel faint and weak.

Though you cannot see the future,
nor do you know where it might lead
and you don’t have the resources
for everything that you need.

Though your mind can’t understand,
and your body has not the wherewithal
lift your soul to Jesus . . .
who will see you through it all!

~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 6:34
King James Version
“Take therefore no thought
for the morrow:
for the morrow
shall take thought
for the things of itself.
Sufficient unto the day
is the evil thereof.”
His Precious Sparrows ~
live like a sparrow by Sandara Lee free photo#10095
As His precious sparrows,
we’re helpless little things
barely are we able
to spread our tiny wings.
The wind and the rain,
so often slows us down
when stuck in a storm at sea
it feels like we’re gonna drown.
In our flight, we try to find,
a place to call a safe harbor
where we can find some comfort
from the pains of our labor.
Cold and hungry we flutter,
long into the stormy night
in the darkness, we try to find
the power to continue in our flight.
We so desperately need,
to find the peace that we seek
for our weary minds
have made us frail and weak.
Into His light we soar,
when our travels come to an end
where with our Lord and Savior
in eternity we will spend.
As His precious sparrows,
we’re helpless little things
but all through our journey . . .
He’s been the strength in our wings.
Luke 12:7
King James Version
“But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”
This Walk of Faith ~
I walk the walk of faith,
hand in hand with my Lord
in my heart His Word
I’ve put away and stored.
I trust and I believe,
He’s always here with me
though at times it’s dark
His light helps me to see.
When I falter in my belief,
not sure of the way
I can rely on Him
to hear me when I pray.
I know He’s next to me,
I’m never all alone
even though there are times
when I feel I’m on my own.
This walk of faith is simple,
but sometimes I make it hard
when I take away the trust
my hopes get somewhat jarred.
I know I must be faithful,
to walk this walk with Him
for when there is not a doubt
His light won’t fade or dim!
King James Version
” Your testimonies are wonderful;
Therefore my soul keeps them.
The entrance of Your words gives light;
 It gives understanding to the simple.”
Every Good and Perfect Gift ~
Good and Perfect Gifts by Jeremiah Bauer free photo #18650
Every good and perfect gift,
is given out of love . . .
creation, salvation, election
comes from God above.
He rewards the faithful,
with the Bread of Life
Jesus, Savior, Friend
the end to all man’s strife.
God gives without condition,
to all those who believe
help, comfort, eternal joy
when Jesus they receive.
He grants to every solider,
a place of perfect rest
pastures green, eagle wings
to see how much they’re blessed.
Every good and perfect gift,
comes like manna from above
mercy, grace, forgiveness
and for all ~ His eternal love!
~~~~~~~~~~

James 1:17
King James Version

“Every good gift
and every perfect gift
is from above,
and cometh down from the
Father of lights,
with whom is no variableness,
neither shadow of turning.”

God ~ I Give You All the Glory

Father, how shall I show my appreciation,
for all You have done for me?
Should I kneel in this space of time,
unmoving on bended knee?

Shall I lift my arms to the heavens,
never to let them fall to my side?
Should I raise my hands up even higher,
and never allow them to subside?

Shall I shout from my rooftop,
about Your mercies I have seen?
Should I scream over the oceans roar,
of how much to me, You mean?

Shall I praise Your Holy name,
from the highest mountain top?
Should I exalt You night and day,
and never for a moment stop?

God, I will give You all the glory,
for the miracles You have done
for You’ve given me the gift of hope
through the healing touch of Your Son.

I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.”

Will You Also Go Away?

Will You Also Go Away ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Will you also go away,
and turn your back on Him too
will you be the one who forsakes
all that Jesus has done for you?

Will you as well forget Him,
and from your faith go astray
will leave your trust behind
to find your peace another way?

Will you be caught up in the lies,
and give up on the old and desired
will you turn from the true Word
for one that isn’t God inspired?

Will you give up your holy future,
and settle for another death
will you give up on the Holy Spirit
until your dying breath?

Will you give up your inheritance,
and separate from the All-Sufficient
will you throw away His eternal love
for one that can never be efficient?

Will you give it another thought,
before you listen to Satan’s pitch
will you become poor once more
so Jesus can again make you rich?

~~~~~~~~~
John 6:66-67
King James Version
“From that time
many of His disciples went
back and walked
with Him no more. Then
Jesus said to the twelve,
“Do you also want to go away?”
All Things Are Possible ~
all-things-are-possible-christian-poetry-by-deborah-ann
All things are possible,
when in God you trust
all things are promising
when you see He is just.
All things have meaning,
when in God you believe
all things have purpose
when His Spirit you receive.
All things are a blessing,
when God you obey
all things come together
when to Him you pray.
All things are attainable,
when God is your hope
all things are brighter
when He helps you to cope.
All things are achievable,
when in God you rest
all things will work out
when He does what is best.
All things work together,
when your life to Jesus you give
all things are beautiful
when He’s the reason you live!
What’s Driving Your Chariot?
Running on Empty by Jonathan Fox free photo #2429
Some people are driven by greed,
by their lust after worldly things
some are driven by their faith
and the hope that Jesus brings.
Some people are driven by success,
by their jobs and the money they earn
some are driven by the Word of God
and what in their Bible they learn.
Some people are driven by the riches,
that living in this world offers up
some are driven by the mercy of God
and the grace He holds in His cup.
Some people are driven by their homes,
their cars, their boats, their toys
some are driven by the peace of God
and the thought of eternal joy.
Some people drive their own chariot,
and put their trust in worldly things
some people trust in Jesus
and are driven by the love He brings.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Psalm 20:7
King James Version

“Some trust in chariots, and some in horses:
but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.”

Think Upon Such Things . . .

Thoughts by Nick Schmidt free photo #15612

Whatever things that are good,
whatever that builds up hope
think upon such things . . .
and they will help you to cope.

Whatever things that are true,
whatever that exposes God’s light
think upon such things . . .
and they will make your life bright.

Whatever things that are lovely,
whatever that God splendidly made
think upon such things . . .
and they will never pale or fade.

Whatever things that are just,
whatever that makes you honest
think upon such things . . .
and they will bless you as promised.

Whatever things that are noble,
whatever that will bring you peace
think upon such things . . .
and they will never fail or cease.

Whatever things that are of men,
whatever that causes you to sin
think not about such things . . .
and your thoughts they won’t win!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Philippians 4:8
King James Version
“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true,
whatever things are noble, whatever things
are just, whatever things are pure, whatever
things are lovely, whatever things are of good
report, if there is any virtue and if there is
anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
Get Dressed!
Spiritual Warfare by Douglas Shelton free photo #5902
I thought I heard God today,
as I was laying in my bed
while my nightly slumbers
were still staggering in my head.
I opened my eyes up slowly,
and began to look around
I turned my ears towards
the mesmerizing  sound.
My mind became alert,
to the cooing, I was hearing
I tossed my blankets off
and arose without fearing.
There it was again,
a sound worth my pursuing
for I recognized the voice
of the Holy Spirit’s wooing.
I opened up my Bible,
and there it was in a verse
a promise for today
God wanted to converse.
I read the whole chapter,
and knew that I was blessed
for now I don’t have to decide . . .
how I should get dressed!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ephesians 6:11-17
King James Version

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day,and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

The Cost of Following Jesus

Follow Jesus by Susan Helmuth free photo #5035

There’s a cost in following Jesus,
and not everyone will go along
there’s a price to be paid
and it’ll cost us our whole lifelong.

There’s a non-negotiable term,
that we need to be prepared to make
there are personal expenditures
that comes with an even higher stake.

There’s a cost in following Jesus,
and it doesn’t come from our pocket-book
there’s a price to be paid
and it’s one too many of us over look.

There’s a charge that Jesus makes,
if we are to follow and go with Him
there’s a fee that He asks  from all of us
and we can’t pay it on a whim.

There’s a cost in following Jesus,
and we’ll repay it our whole lifelong
for we  must give up EVERYTHING
if we truly want to go along . . .

The Thunderbolt of Fear ~

The thunderbolt of fear,
frightens and horrifies
until panic sets in
and the soul it terrifies.

It moves ever quickly,
through our worried minds
then it settles in
when our weakness it finds.

Fears jolting boom,
is felt deep in the heart
then the resounding dread
in our soul beings to start.

It freezes and it seizes,
our feet to the floor
as soon as we hear
it’s rumbling, cracking roar.

But fear can be conquered,
when at first you hear it’s clap
if you take your worries . . .
and lay them in God’s lap!

King James Version

“What time I am afraid,
I will trust in thee.”

Liars ~

Liars ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Liars, all liars
wolves in sheep skin
taking the Word of God
putting on it their own spin.

Twisting and slanting,
the Word until it fits
not caring what story
that it flips or knits.

Liars, all liars,
sin to them hasn’t a yoke
shunning the Gospel truth
turning the cross into a joke.

Filling up the pews,
counting all the money
lies on their greedy lips
taste as sweet as honey.

Liars, all liars
fruits that are rotting
stinking to high heaven
liars, who need stopping!

which come to you
in sheep’s clothing,

but inwardly they are
ravening wolves.”

God Will Prevail ~

dont-give-up

It’s not about the fall,
or the number of times we fail
it’s about getting back up
even though we are frail.

It’s not about the troubles,
that we get ourselves in
it’s about our decision
whether to continue in our sin.

It’s not about the breakdown,
or the times we come apart
it’s about if we emerge
with repentance in our heart.

It’s not about the wheat,
that goes through the sieve
it’s about the chaff that remains
and the ones who still believe.

It’s not about the fall,
or the number of times we fail
it’s about the times we rise
knowing God’s mercy will prevail!

“For a just man falleth seven times,
and riseth up again: but the wicked
shall fall into mischief.”

Test My Heart, Lord

Love by Josiah Kopp free photo#7351

Test my heart, Lord,
see what’s inside . . .

Look low, look deep,
search far, search wide
till there’s nothing left
for me to hide.

Pull on fears suspicions,
push on doubts admissions
pick away at its coldness,
cut away egos boldness.

Purge out selfish pride,
pluck out the greedy side
haul off Satan’s lies
rip out its lusting eyes.

Pull up evils root,
yank up sins pursuit
gather up all the pain
wash away guilt’s stain.

Test my heart Lord,
till it’s true and blue. . .

Search here, search there,
look at all I say and do
till all my heart holds . . .
is the love I have for You!

Sin No More ~

Sin Kills by Nathan Wright free photo # 1991-1

Oh, beware my repented friend,
for Jesus came not to condemn
rather to forgive your trespasses
but you must not go and sin again.

Once you confess to Him your sin,
ask Him for His strength and power
for Satan will be sure to tempt you
when he finds you in your weakest hour.

You must forsake your sinful ways,
if you want God’s peace to remain
and from all the lusts of this world
you must be faithful to refrain.

Sin confessed will not save you,
if you return to your recklessness
you must stop the sin that you do
or you will lose ~ God’s blessedness.

Oh, beware my repented friend,
for Jesus came not to condemn
but God requires from you living faith
and you must change lest you sin again!

John 8:11
King James Version

“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said
unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go,
and sin no more.

Just Pray ~

Just Pray ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

In everything in life,
no matter how big or small
the trivial and the considerable
let Jesus have them all.

Take time to talk with Him,
not just in your prayers
share no matter the time of day
your worries and your cares.

Then quickly give them to Him,
and wait for Him to answer
with praise and thanksgiving
watch as your burdens transfer.

For, Jesus will take them all,
His peace will come your way
if in everything, you don’t forget
to talk to Him and just pray!

~~~~~~~~
Philippians 4:6-7
“Be careful for nothing;
but in every thing by prayer
and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests
be made known unto God.
And the peace of God,
which passeth
all understanding,
shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ Jesus.”
Thirsty ~
Thirsty ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Lord, I am thirsty,
I need more of You . . .
for, there’s a spiritual drought
right now I am going through.
Fill me with fresh hope,
take the aridness in my soul away
rain on me Your tender mercy
renew my heart in You today.
Lord, I am thirsty,
my arms are opened wide
protect and defend me
come be my eternal guide.
Make this dry season I’m in,
turn into Your valley green
where Living Waters flow
so on You I may lean.
Lord, I am thirsty,
I need more of You . . .
restore in me my youthful faith
like the refreshing morning dew!
Come Judgement Day ~
Flames by Matanis Davidsen free photo #5994
I’m following after Jesus,
staying on the narrow way
so that I’ll be ready . . .
come Judgment Day.
I’ll stand firm on the fact,
that Jesus died for me
so to be spared His wrath
on the day I bow my knee.
I’ll keep my faith steadfast,
my Savior’s grace I’ll profess
so to be saved from the pit
on the day His name I confess.
I’m going to live for Jesus,
be all He wants me to be
so into the flames of hell . . .
He will not sentence me!
Let Me Carry That
let go let God by Daniel Sauceda  free photo #15590
Let Me carry that for you,
let Me have that heavy load
give Me all of your cares
all the tears that have flowed.
Give Me all your discomfort,
all the pain that you still feel
give Me your grief and sorrow
so that your life I can heal.
Let Me take from you,
the pressures on your mind
give Me all your worries
and your fears of every kind.
Give Me your tiredness,
the weary beat in your heart
let Me take on that burden
that is keeping us apart.
Let Me have your concerns,
and I will give you perfect rest
let me have your anxiety
I know what for you is best.
Let Me carry that for you,
place it all here in My hand
let Me carry that for you
then in Me ~ you can stand!
Matthew 11:29-30
Unashamed ~
unashamed
I know that I offend you,
because I am a Christian
that you believe my Bible
is just a book of fiction.
I know that I upset you,
for believing the way I do
and that my faith in Jesus
doesn’t at all interest you.
I know that you’d prefer
I would just go away
that you don’t want to hear
what I might have to say.
But I cannot ever stop,
confessing what I believe
and it is my honest prayer
one day Jesus you’ll receive.
For, to me it’s a matter,
of eternal life and death
so I will confess my faith
unashamed til my dying breath!
Shh ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Shh, don’t you hear Him,
oh, listen and be still
He wants you to listen
your ears you must will.
Shh, hear His whispers,
the soft yearning sigh
wooing you to His side
drawing you by and nigh.
Shh, listen to the silence,
He is speaking to you yet
come listen faithfully
His stillness you will get.
Shh, hear the hush within,
His voice is soft and calm
listen and He will quiet you
for He’s your soothing balm.
The Black Horse is Coming
Satan's Plan by Shad Fos free ophoto #2507
The Black Horse is coming,
in darkness he’ll reign
unrighteousness is his harness
apostasy his rein.
He who rides on the back,
of this evil, menacing steed
holds the straps of iniquity
and the bridle of greed.
His power is so ruthless,
ungodliness will abound
his wickedness so dark
no light will be found.
The darkness he’s bringing,
will cause all to go blind
he will restrain God’s love
and control every mind.
He’s going to bring about,
a real spiritual hunger
and no one will survive
with out this beast’s number.
He’ll be taking out his whip,
and lash out at God’s Word
he’ll do everything possible
so, salvation cannot be heard.
The black horse is waiting,
waiting for the third seal
to be opened by the angel
so, God’s light he can steal.
He is getting himself ready
soon he’ll be charging this way
bringing God’s judgments
upon the dark world that day.
He holds on to the balances,
He’ll ration out everyone’s feed
hunger and famine is the name
of this evil, menacing steed!
Revelation 6:5
And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that
Every Cry
every cry 2
Every cry is heard,
by His loving ear
there’s not one sob
that He does not hear.
Every distressful plea,
He hears the timbre of its gloom
the pitch of every prayer
He knows just from whom.
Every request for help,
to Him is loud and clear
every call for relief
echo’s in His holy ear.
Every cry of pain,
He knows from where it came
every tear that falls
He understands the droplet’s frame.
Every cry is heard,
not one ~ will He not hear
there isn’t a single sob
that doesn’t reach His mighty ear.
