I use to wonder . . .
if God heard my prayers
when I was over burdened
by the weight of my cares.
Amid all the clamor,
and the uproars of this life
I wondered if He listened
to the prayers of my strife.
At night I’d lay in my bed,
I would cry myself to sleep
unsure if He still received
the prayers of His sheep.
As prayers went unanswered,
I’d turn into a basket case
thinking for some reason
I had fallen from His grace.
But, now when God is silent,
I know it’s because He’s just
and He is still teaching me
to trust, trust . . . trust!

Proverbs 3:5
King James Version
“Trust in the Lord
with all thine heart;
and lean not
unto thine own understanding.”
