Blessed Are The Merciful ~

Blessed Are The Merciful ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Blessed are those who are merciful,
those who notice others needs
those who are moved to respond
to who go wherever the Spirit leads.

Blessed are those who show pity,
those who have true compassion
those who care less of themselves
who make following Jesus their passion.

Blessed are those who show favor,
those who forgives someone of sin
those who display God’s empathy
who have His kindness living within.

Blessed are those who evangelize,
those who spread the Good Word
those who seek after the unsaved
who wants the truth to be heard.

Blessed are those who are merciful,
those who supply grace each day
those who rather give then receive
for God’s mercy is coming their way!

Matthew 5:7
King James Version

“Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.”

Rest, My Soul, Rest ~

let go let God by Daniel Sauceda free photo #15590

Rest, my soul rest,
return to your state of peace
give your fears to the Lord
onto Him your anxieties release.

Revisit His loving kindness,
dwell in the calmness of His ease
retire thyself in His fullness
let His grace bow your weary knees.

Go back to thy youthful days,
remember His patience bountiful
reclaim your right to His respite
for His mercies are plentiful.

Rest, my soul rest,
let God comfort and console
return to your state of peace
let serenity take control!!

Psalm 116:7
King James Version

“Return unto thy rest,
O my soul;

for the LORD hath dealt
bountifully with thee.”

Lord, Take My Hand ~

Lord, Take My Hand ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Jesus, I admit defeat,
I relinquish all to You
take my hand Lord Jesus
do what only You can do.

A life without victory,
beaten down by all the loss
take my hand Lord Jesus
and lead me to Your Cross.

A heart that’s been broken,
beset by grief and pain
take my hand Lord Jesus
and lead me home again.

Restore to me my first love,
remove the stones You see
take my hand Lord Jesus
and guide me back to Thee.

Jesus, I do surrender,
my life is Yours to pursue
take my hand Lord Jesus
and bring me closer to You.

~~~~~~~~
Psalm 31:5
King James Version
“Into thine hand
I commit my spirit:
thou hast redeemed me,
O Lord God of truth.”
Focused ~
focus Logo by Dave Elledge free photo 3610
Lord, at times it’s hard to focus,
on what You have to say
with so many distractions
that come at me each day.
I open up my Bible,
but the pages seem to dull
and though I see the words
they don’t sink into my skull.
My mind begins to wander,
making it hard for me to see
the Way, Truth and the Life
that is right in front of me.
I struggle with my thoughts,
try to turn them just to You
but, then I start to think about
all the things that I must do.
Lord, at times it hard to focus,
on the things that really matter
there are so many diversions
causing my thoughts to scatter.
So, this morning I am praying,
You will help me out today
by keeping my heart fixed . . .
and my mind on You stayed!
Psalm 57:7
“My heart is fixed,
O God, my heart is fixed:
I will sing and give praise.”
Have You Met My Rock?
Rock by 1496Cherly Wade free photo #
Have you met my Rock,
have you viewed life from the top
have you seen God’s grace
from up here on my Rock?
Have you reached my Rock,
have you ascended to the summit
have you felt God’s mercy
from up here on my Rock?
Have you scaled my Rock,
have you soared up to its height
have you sensed God’s love
from up here on my Rock.
Have you gone to my Rock,
have you asked God for the strength
to make the one-time climb
to meet Jesus, my Rock ?
Oh, Wonderful Savior
love-joy-hope free photo
Oh, precious Jesus,
how great is Your name
today and tomorrow
You’re always the same.
You came into my life,
made a believer of me
gave me eternal hope
just by believing in Thee.
Oh, wonderful Savior,
who would have thought
that my pitiful life
You would have bought.
You are the peace,
I feel deep in my soul
just saying Your name
soothes and consoles.
Oh, precious Jesus,
into my life You came
today and forever
I’ll trust in Your name!
trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not
On This Christmas Morn ~
A promise to the world,
a child to be given
so many years foretold
so all could be forgiven.
Moonless night shining,
with the Morning Star
calling watchful shepherds
to come from afar.
Wise Men carry gifts,
meant for only a King
angels up in heaven
Glory ~ Glory ~ sing.
God became a man,
the Good News is born
begotten Son arrives
on this Christmas morn.
Our mighty God concedes,
to the wickedness of man
the Prince of Peace comes
to bridge the empty span.
Wonderful is His name,
Counselor to the meek
the Son was born of flesh
to give power to the weak.
Our everlasting Father,
knows our fallen state
so He sent His only Son
to save us from our fate.
A promise to the world,
our Lord and Savior is born
sing ~ Praises to His Glory ~
on this Christmas morn.
The Gift of Jesus ~
Making Room for Jesus ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
The birth of baby Jesus,
our Lord and precious Savior
holds a dear place in the heart
that understands God’s favor.
For we embrace the light,
given to us on His birthday
we know Christ is the truth
to His Father ~ the only way.
We relish in the eternal joy,
of what His life means to us
we find our greatest pleasure
is learning, in Him to trust.
We understand the fragrance,
the aroma of His grace
and we can hardly wait
till we meet Him face to face.
For our Prince of Peace,
came to save us from our sin
through His almighty power
His Spirit now lives within.
Each of us, who treasures,
the offer of His eternal love
keeps our hearts and minds
on the hope from above.
So, if you want to share with us,
the True Gift of the season
then ask Jesus into your heart
and let His light be your beacon!
My Gift to You?
divine intervention by Dave Sherein free photo #553
Dear Family . . .
This year my Christmas gift to you,
isn’t one that is on your wish list . . .
it’s not something that you really want
or anything you simply can’t resist.
It isn’t that 3D LCD/LED Television,
or that I Pod, Pad, or Phone
I’m afraid it’s not going to be anything
that you’re going to be taking home.
It is not that cool Nintendo Wii,
or the Kindle White Paper or HD Fire
I am sorry to say . . .
it won’t be your heart’s true desire.
You see, this year, I am going to buy,
for a needy mom and dad . . .
and I going to give to their children
the simple things ~ they’ve never had!
I’m going to buy for their daughter,
a brand new baby doll
and for her little brother
a shiny, red bounding ball.
For their baby sibling,
I’ll prove a supply of diapers
and for dad perhaps . . .
a new pair of windshield wipers.
I’ll not forget about the mom,
who holds it all together
and I think I will get for her
a brand new warm fuzzy sweater.
Dear Family . . .
I hope that you understand,
this Christmas I’m  giving your gifts away
it’s not that I don’t want to buy for you
but . . . you have everything anyway!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Merry CHRISTmas . . . I still love you!

Away With The Manager ~

Away With The Manger ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

 Away with the manger,
no need for a bed
the birth of our Savor
is best left unsaid.

The unbeliever’s of the world,
look down from their nose
when the name of our Lord Jesus,
on them we impose.

The masses are in agreement,
saying Christmas is a mistake
but covetousness for the season
they will never forsake.

We love thee materialism,
we love thee so much
and to their credit card idols
they bow down and clutch.

Be clear to say happy holidays,
season greetings to you
but don’t mention the babes name
or you they may sue.

They bless all of their goodies,
their toys and their playthings
but want nothing to do with the gift
that the sweet baby Jesus brings.

Away with the manger,
and the nativity
for too many hearts today
are in satan’s captivity!

Luke 2:12
King James Version

“And this shall be a sign unto you;
Ye shall find the babe wrapped
in swaddling clothes,

lying in a manger.

My Gift of Trust ~

Lord, I don’t have gold or frankincense,
and it seems I’m all out of myrrh
but. I’ve a gift just as wonderful
and I know You’ll agree and concur.

For, what I have to offer You,
is more precious to You then these
so, I come to You with my treasure
and offer it to You on bent knees.

Lord, I’m giving You my entire life,
and all my worldly possessions
I am going to make You the Lord
over my material obsessions.

I am giving You my eternal hope,
with jubilant thankful praise
I am giving You my soul’s devotion
for the rest of my living days.

Lord, I am giving You my gift of trust,
no matter what may come my way
and I’m going to worship and adore You
as if each day was Christmas Day!

Matthew 2:11
King James Version

“And when they were come into the house,
they saw the young child with Mary his
mother, and fell down, and worshipped him:
and when they had opened their treasures,
they presented unto him gifts; gold, and
frankincense and myrrh.”

Down Here ~

DSC02709 BY SALVI PIXS FREE PHOTO #3345

When will people come to know,
you can’t find happiness here on earth
when will they understand
down here, there isn’t anything of worth?

Why do people search so hard,
to find happiness that is not real
why can’t they see the truth . . .
that their lives Jesus came to heal?

When will people come to know,
that only God can bring them peace
when will they understand
down here, they’ll never find release?

Why do people busy themselves,
with worldly wealth and ungodly things
why do they not want to see . . .
the love and hope that Jesus brings?

When will people come to know,
there is no happiness to be found
when will they understand
down here, to Jesus they must be bound?

No wonder there is so much grief,
so many who are hurting
for there are still too many souls
we need to be converting!

Rescued ~

Resuced ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Jesus came with a tender heart,
and extended a loving hand
from the miry clay, He lifted me
and He helped me up to stand.

I was soiled and I was stained,
with the grime of my sin
and He knew that I needed
to be cleansed from within.

He saw that I was lost,
how my life lacked His direction
and He knew in the darkness
I couldn’t see my imperfection.

So, He shined His light on me,
and it broke through the crust
that my heart was embedded with
until in Him I learned to trust.

He was the voice of my hope,
His promises I began to hear
He rescued me from the pit
and made His pathway clear.

Jesus came with a tender heart,
and He helped me up to stand
from the miry clay, He lifted me
and now holds me in His hand!

standing: I am come into deep waters, where
the floods overflow me.”

The Prayer of Salvation

prayer free photo

The prayer of salvation,
lies in everybody’s heart
but so few are willing
to heed and do their part.

Their hearts are icy cold,
with hard and stony places
so they deny the true God
and the need for His graces.

They’d rather look away,
then to recognize their sin
and they defiantly refuse
to let Jesus enter in.

But, God never gives up,
on the rebellious heart
and there is always hope
they won’t forever be apart.

So if you are the one,
God is speaking to today
it is my heartfelt desire
this prayer you will pray.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Father, I know that I have broken your laws
and my sins have separated me from you.
I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away
from my past sinful life toward you.
Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again.
I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins,
was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer.
I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life,
to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward.
Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You,
and to do Your will for the rest of my life.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

John 3:16
King James Version

“For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life.”

AMEN AND AMEN!

Jingle Blues

Here is something just for fun . . .

Christmas Chaos byJeff Boriss free photo #2242

Dashing to the mall
in a luxury automobile
over the freeway I crawl
complaining all the way
horns of irritation blow
making me feel uptight
oh what pain it is to shop
at six- o’clock at night.

Jingle blues, jingle blues
complaining all the way
oh what a mess it is to ride
on the holiday express.

A season or two ago,
I thought I’d quit this dash
and then I was told
I didn’t need the cash
a credit card will do
to get me a lot of stuff
with no interest charges
for that enticing touch.

Jingle blues, jingle blues
complaining all the way
oh what a mess it is to ride
on the credit card express.

A season or two ago,
I thought I was through
dashing to Black Friday sales
but my Christmas list grew
and now I find myself
fighting traffic in my car
inching along the way
not getting very far
and I ~ I just got to shop!

Jingle blues, jingle blues
complaining all the way
oh what a mess it is to ride
on the bankrupt express.

Now my face is white,
as I look at all the bills
to pay back what I owe
gives me the chills
so from now I am paying cash
to Christmas debt I’m going to cede
no more debit and credit cards
and I hope you’ll take my lead.

Jingle bliss, jingles bliss,
I have nothing more to fear
oh what joy it will be . . .
to have no Christmas debt next year!

Give the Gift of Jesus ~

Believe by Aaron Ufema free photo # 6285

This Christmas . . .

I’m decorating my heart,
with the wrappings of God’s love
tying a ribbon around my soul
with His blessings from above.

I going to avoid all the malls,
and stop not at a single store
the only present I will give
is the One that will restore.

I’m giving the gift of forgiveness,
sending cards about His grace
I’m letting the glory of His birth
beam across my thankful face.

I’m opening up my home,
for everyone to come and see
the light of His beauty
so to celebrate His birth with me.

I’m serving a dish of Christmas joy,
and offering up God’s good cheer
we will feast upon His holiness
and rejoice that our Savior’s here.

I’m baking Him up a special cake,
singing to Him a birthday song
and a slice of His love and mercy
I’ll give out for all to take along.

I’m giving the offering of Jesus,
at naught at cost to me . . .
I’m sending out the message,
there is One gift that is free!

God has His Reasons

green-plant-budding free photo

For everything, there is a season
for every trial, God has a reason

a time to be tested, a time to be still
a time to hurt, a time to heal

a time to fail, a time to grow
a time to doubt, a time to know

a time of suspicion, a time of belief
a time of pain, a time of relief

to everything, there is a season
for every worry, God has a reason

a time to be weak, a time to be strong
a time to be right, a time to be wrong

a time to be sorry, a time to be glad
a time to be happy, a time to be sad

a time to be anxious, a time to rest
a time to release, a time to digest

to everything, there is a season
for every battle, God has a reason

a time to fight, a time to make peace
a time to let go, a time to reach

a time to lose, a time to win
a time to hold on, a time to give in

a time to turn away, a time to follow
a time to trust, a time to wallow

to everything, there is a season
for every soul, God has a reason

a time to die, a time to be reborn
a time to rejoice, a time to mourn

a time to squelch, a time to express
a time to hold back, a time to confess

a time of death, a time to live
a time of shame, a time to forgive

to everything, there is a season
for every man, God has a reason!

At His Feet ~

three-crosses-2 free photo

It was there on the hill of Calvary,
where Jesus died for me
it was then that I realized . . .
with Him eternally I wanted to be.

It was there that I broke,
into a million little pieces
and gave up my burdens
for His peace that never ceases.

It was looking to the cross,
that made me see my sin
it was when I asked Jesus
to come and dwell within.

It was at His very feet,
where I laid down all my sorrow
and asked Him to be
my today and my tomorrow.

It was on the hill of Calvary,
where I left my sinful life . . .
and gave to my Savior
this world, my pain, the strife!

The Light Unto My Path ~

Your Word My Light

I tuck the Word in my heart,
then go about my way . . .
I know having the truth in me
will take me through my day.

I get such joy and pleasure,
in every delightful saying
I can hear the Word’s of God
whenever I am praying.

I long to have study time,
to meditate and learn
for I desire that the Word
be the only lamp I burn.

Upon my lips I do savor,
every morsel that I’ve heard
to me there is not anything
more satisfying than the Word.

I tuck the Word in my heart,
for it renews me day-to-day
it goes with me wherever I go
for it is the light unto my way!

Little Baby Jesus ~

Christmas by Rode Pannell free photo #17366

Little baby Jesus,
so soft and so sweet
one day would have nails
pounded into His feet.

Tightly swaddled now,
in His mother’s loving arms
one day He would wear
a crown of prickly thorns.

Small cooing sounds,
He now softly sighs
one day to His Father
He’ll moan forsaken cries.

Wise Men bring to Him,
gifts meant for a King
one day to a cross
His life will painfully cling.

Little baby Jesus,
so soft and so sweet
came into the world
so Satan He could defeat!

In Jesus ~

names-of-jesus-free photo

In Jesus, the poor become rich,
the weak are now the strong
the heavy-heart now rejoices
and sing salvation’s song.

The grieving finds true comfort,
the bound are finally set free
In Jesus, all know that peace
will last throughout eternity.

In Jesus, the hungry are satisfied,
the thirsty now are quenched
the wandering soul is no longer
in their worldly sins entrenched.

The tempted finds the holy way,
the laden down finds perfect rest
in Jesus, the weary and oppressed
finds refreshment and are blessed.

In Jesus, the rich are the poor,
the strong were once the weak
the rejoicer’s are the ones . . .
who know salvation is for the meek!

The Light of My Salvation ~

Light by Carter Carroll free photo #6762

The Lord is my strength,
without Him, I can do nothing
with Him, all is possible
for I trust Him, in everything.

Though my troubles are many,
my hope is in His light
His salvation brings me peace
takes my fear from the night.

I will trust in my Lord,
no matter what life brings
for I know He’s in control
of every single thing.

I know I can count on,
my Lord guiding me
and through every trial
with me, He’ll always be.

The Lord is my strength,
I am fearful for nothing
as long as He is with me
I’m ready for anything!

Though I am Born Again . . .

Saved by Jon Tomero free photo #7929

Though I am born again,
I still look the same . . .
the only difference is
I am baptized in His name.

I know I am still a sinner,
but I’m trying hard not to be
and I am sure that my faults
you still can see in me.

I am not yet perfect,
but I am learning every day
how to live like Jesus
and to follow His righteous way.

I know you don’t believe,
but I haven’t a single doubt
and I trust that my Lord
will work all things out.

I’ve got a lot of changing,
that I know I need to do
and I believe that my Savior
will help me see them through.

I’ve made many choices,
that I am not proud of
but I am counting on His mercy
and trusting in His love.

I know when you look at me,
I don’t look any different
but I know somethings new
and in Jesus I am confident.

All I am asking you,
is to give me some more time
before you begin to judge me
and condemn me for my crime.

Though I am born again,
I am not without blame
but the day I accepted Jesus
He took with Him my shame!

The Pill of Bitterness ~

The Pill of Bitterness ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Bitterness is a caustic pill,
that at times we all swallow
causing a pool of self-pity
where misery loves to wallow.

At first the acid taste,
doesn’t bother us too much
for we feel justified in our pain
and to our anger we still clutch.

As we take our daily dose,
sweet revenge turns a little tart
but we don’t seem to notice
the spite budding in our heart.

We take our correct measure,
each morning when we awake
for we are not willing to forgive
and aren’t wanting to forsake.

The remedy for bitterness,
can’t be found in any pill . . .
but you can find a cure for it
when forgiveness you instill!

~~~~~~~~~
Ephesians 4:31
King James Version
” Let all bitterness,
wrath, anger, clamor, and
evil speaking be
put away from you,
with all
malice. “
In The Secret Place ~
In The Secret Place ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
I shall dwell in the secret place,
where the Most High abides
I’ll make the Almighty my refuge
under His shadow, I will reside.
There He will protect me,
and keep me from all harm
there He will preserve me
and keep me safe and warm.
There He will guard me,
and for my faith, He will bless
there He will look out for me
and give me a place to rest.
There I will pray with Him,
to supply my every need
there I will sup with Him
and on His Word I will feed.
There I will praise Him,
and give Him the glory due
there I will worship Him
and sing my hallelujah’s too.
I shall dwell with You my God,
in that secret place
for it’s where I am surrounded
with Your love and grace!
~~~~~~~~

Psalm 91: 1-2

the LORD, “He is my refuge and my
fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”

Jesus Knows Your Pain ~

Dealing with Pain by Marian Trinidad free photo # 8971

Jesus knows your pain,
He understands your grief
He knows that only His love
can bring your heart relief.

He recognizes your sorrow,
He sees the spiteful sting
and the grace He has for you
in your life, He wants to bring.

He’s aware of your rejection,
He hears others put you down
and His favor and His mercy
will be your victory crown.

He identifies with your hurt,
the tenderness of your ache
and He will bring you comfort
that no man could ever break.

For He too ~ was rejected,
His life others gladly discarded
He knows the agony inflected
when your cry is disregarded.

Jesus knows your pain,
He wants to give you relief
for He died to put an end to
your sorrow and your grief.

~~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 53:3
“He is despised and rejected of men;
and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”
