Ask ~ Seek ~ Knock ~ Enter

Yes Lord I believe free photo

Ask believing Jesus loves you,
seek and Him you will find
knock and the door will open
enter and don’t look behind.

Ask that Jesus will forgive you,
seek and repent of your sin
knock and He will free you
enter and be cleansed within.

Ask trusting Jesus will answer,
seek and listen to His voice
knock and He will hear you
enter and in Him rejoice.

Ask knowing Jesus is faithful,
seek and believe He is the Son
knock and He will be there
enter and see what He’s done.

Ask showing you’re thankful,
seek and Jesus you will see
knock and He will bless you
enter and in heaven you’ll be.

Luke 11:9
King James Version

“And I say unto you,
Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and ye shall find;
knock, and it shall
be opened unto you.”

Sweet Assurance ~

Father, I give you my burdens,
take with them my worries too
give to me Your sweet assurance
as I give all my problems to You.

Father, You know my every care,
each anxious beat of my heart
give to me Your peaceful Spirit
on my soul tender mercy impart.

Father, You promise to protect me,
to give me a place to find rest
give to me Your Spirit’s filling
so that I may be forever blessed.

Father, I give to you all my fears,
take with them my doubts too
give to me Your sweet assurance
for I trust and believe in You!

1 Thessalonians 1:5
King James Version

“For our gospel came not
unto you in word only,

but also in power,
and in the Holy Ghost,

band in much assurance;
as ye know what manner

of men we were among
you for your sake.

Calm Waters ~

Calm Waters ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Calm waters across the bay,
small ripples the shade of blue
quiet moments on the shore
in the stillness there is You.

As far as my eyes can see,
God’s peace is all around
I look and can see His beauty
from the sky to the ground.

My ears can barely hear,
whispers behind the breeze
Lord, these tranquil moments
remind me of Your ease.

I stand on the sandy beach,
Your peacefulness I take in
I sense the loving calmness
of Your Spirit deep within.

I watch in silent wonder,
reveling in the quietness
I listen to the silence . . .
absorbing Your awesomeness!

“Thou rulest the raging of the sea:
when the waves thereof arise,
thou stillest them.”

Whenever I’m Afraid ~

Whenever I am afraid
and fear comes my way
I stop what I am doing
and to my Lord, I pray.

I won’t allow my fears,
to take away my calm
for in Jesus I do trust
to be my soothing balm.

In God’s loving-kindness,
He sent me His peace
and Jesus died for me
to see it wouldn’t cease.

I won’t allow my fears,
to influence my serenity
for it is in my Lord
I find my true identity.

Whenever I am afraid,
and fear comes my way
I put my trust in my Lord
to take my dread away!

King James Version

I will trust in thee”

I am Convinced ~

I am convinced I belong to God,
that nothing can separate us
I am sure and I am positive . . .
and so in Him I will always trust.

There’s nothing that man can say,
to break God’s and my alliance
I am sure and I am positive . . .
for on Him I put my full reliance.

Storms may toss and blow my way,
but I will not be swept out to sea
for I am sure and I am positive . . .
through each gust, God is with me.

And when Satan comes along,
putting temptations in my way
I am sure and I am positive . . .
on the narrow path, I will stay.

The earth may shake and quiver,
yet my faith in God will stand
for I am sure and I am positive . . .
nothing can snatch me out of His hand.

I am convinced I belong to God,
my victory is in Christ alone
I am sure and I am positive . . .
one day He will take me home!

Romans 8:38-39
King James Version

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor
life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come, Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature,
shall be able to separate us from the love of
God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Faith ~

Faith ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

I got over that mountain of guilt,
with Jesus’ strength, I climbed over it
now my faith is whole and complete
and my soul is sound and fit.

I swam that ocean of disbelief and doubt,
with Jesus’ trust, I made it to the other side
now my faith is renewed and restored
and my life is no longer filled with pride.

I walked through that valley of shame,
with Jesus’ help, I made my way across
now my faith is full of His grace
and my eyes are focused on the cross.

I parted that sea of guilt and blame,
with Jesus’ mercy, I made it to the dock
now my faith is securely anchored
and my entire life clings to the Rock.

I pushed through that fearful desert,
with Jesus’ power, I made it all the way
now my faith is bold and brave
and my life now belongs to Him each day.

I got over all these obstacles,
I know you can get over yours too . . .
But you got to have faith in Jesus
and trust Him ~ to deliver you!

King James Version

“I can do all things through Christ
which strengtheneth me.

Why I am Thankful ~

Why am I thankful,
let me count the ways . . .
and the first one is because
I trust Jesus with all my days.

I am thankful for His love,
for forgiving me my sin
I’m thankful for the Holy Spirit
who dwells and lives within.

I am thankful for His mercy,
His endless supply of grace
I’m thankful that He knows
the very contour of my face.

I am thankful for His truths,
keeping me on the narrow path
I am thankful that I’ll not know
the full measure of His wrath.

I am thankful for His peace,
the calmness that surrounds me
I’m thankful for the living hope
that one day with Jesus, I will be.

Why am I thankful,
I cannot count all the ways . . .
but, for these and so many more
I give to God all my praise!

May our Lord and Savior
be your reason to be thankful . . .

This Thanksgiving Day and every day!

Amen and Amen

He Supplies My Every Need ~

He Supplies My Every Need ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Lord, today I am so thankful,
for all You’ve given me
for all the hidden blessings
that before, I could not see.

I once thought if I had more,
I would find true happiness
but,  now I see that all I need
is You, and not my worldliness.

Lord, I am blessed with so much,
there is nothing that I lack
and I owe everything to You
for taking this wanderer back.

You’ve taught me to trust,
swept me away in Your peace
You’ve given me love
that I know will never cease.

There’s nothing that I want,
for You supply my every need
as You’re the faithful sower
of every good and fruitful seed.

Lord, today I give my thanks,
and send my praises up to You
for there isn’t anything for me . . .
that You would not do!

I am But Your Lamb ~

I am But Your Lamb ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~

Lord, take me as I am,
for You are my  Shepherd. . .
I am but Your lamb.

Lead me with Your rod,
feel free to poke and prod
guide me with Your staff
so I’ll never see Your wrath.

Rustle up my inner strife,
bring about eternal life
show me the green pasture
so my soul You can capture.

Direct me as You will,
with thy Shepherd’s skill
instruct me how to stay
teach me not to stray.

Steer me to Your flock,
where You’ll be my Rock
point me to Thy herd
so I can learn Your Word.

Direct my every stride,
keep me at Your side
move me close to You
till its only You I pursue.

Lord, take me as I am,
for You are my Shepherd. . .
I am but Your lamb!

God’s Working In You ~

Do not let your heart forget,
the good things God’s worked in you
don’t you ever doubt or wonder
what He began He won’t see through.

For, in your life He’s still working,
out the details of all things
and it gives His heart gladness
when you try out your eagle wings.

You will have high mountains,
low valleys and rough seas too
there’ll be times when you think
He’s no longer working in you.

But, oh my little earthlings,
do not stress or flit about . . .
for God has you in His sight
as He’s busy working things out.

Sometimes our unbelief,
keeps us from God’s plans
but, we must never doubt . . .
our times our in His hands!

King James Version

that He who has begun a good work in
you will complete it until the day of
Jesus Christ;”

Soul Harvest ~

Soul Harvest ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Today I’m feeling burdened,
I am feeling a sense of grief
and Jesus is the only one
who can give me some relief.

I am sad and I am troubled,
I am struggling hard to cope
because all I want to do . . .
is to bring about some hope.

I want to turn a soul to God,
help them to find His peace
I want them to know His love
will never end or cease.

I want to share about my Savior,
how He died for their sins
I want them to know His blood
washes them clean from within.

I want to help the lost one,
to find their way back home
I want to gather up the sheep
who are out on the roam.

I want to lead them back to Jesus,
where He is waiting for their return
I want them to repent of their sins
so in hell they won’t burn.

Today I’m feeling burdened,
I am feeling a sense of grief
only harvesting souls for Jesus
will bring my heart relief!

Was It I Lord?

Was it I Lord . . .
who hung You on that tree
was it I who denied You
on the count of three?

Was it I who betrayed You,
who said where You were
was it my unbelief
that made Your death occur?

Was it my recklessness,
was it I who fell fast asleep
was it my lack of faith
that my watch I couldn’t keep?

Was it I who yelled out,
they should crucify You
was it I You said to . . .
“They don’t know what they do?”

Was it I who mocked You,
while You were in pain
was it I who spat on You
while lots were cast for gain?

Was it I Lord . . .
who hung You on that tree?
Was it I who denied You
Oh dear Lord ~ please say it wasn’t me!

for they know not what they do.
And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”

A Plate of Grace ~

Come this Thanksgiving . . .
there will be no turkey with dressing
there will only be a plate of gratitude
served with God’s many blessings.

As a substitute for candied yams,
we are going to feast on His kindness
and taste the sweetness of His favor
as we reflect on His loving guidance.

There will be no rolls and butter,
instead, we’ll eat of the Bread of Life
and with gratitude we’ll give our thanks
that we no longer live in hopeless strife.

In the place of creamy mashed potatoes,
there will be praise piled just as high
and we will sing to Him our adoration
instead of eating pumpkin pie.

The only beverage we will drink,
will be from the one True Vine
and with sanctification on our lips
Jesus’ sacrifice will be as sweet as wine.

Come this Thanksgiving . . .
I’m not making a traditional dinner
I’ll only be serving the grace of God . . .
to those I know ~ who are still a sinner!

2 Corinthians 12:9

for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather
glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ
may rest upon me.”

Here I AM ~

Here I AM,
looking out for you
counting your every step
guiding you all the way
each and every day.

Here I AM,
feeling all your hurt
healing all your pain
taking away the sting
shielding you with My wing.

Here I AM,
always besides you
never leaving, never parting
for I AM always here
I AM forever near.

Here I AM,
seeing you worry
giving you My peace
watching your concern
bringing you new hope
helping you to cope.

So, if you ever wonder,
where I can be found
all you have to do
is take a look around . . .

For here I AM!

Oh, Sing My Soul Sing ~

Sing, My Soul, Sing ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Sing, oh my soul,
get down on your knees
sing songs of praises
oh, sing my soul, sing.

Sing of His goodness,
His faithfulness too
sing of His kindness
oh, sing my soul, sing.

Sing of His mercy,
lift your arms in the air
sing of His compassion
oh, sing my soul, sing.

Sing of His grace,
His forgiveness true
sing of His salvation
oh, sing my soul, sing.

Sing of His love,
lift up your voice
sing of His splendor
oh, sing my soul, sing.

Sing of His wonder,
sing for His delight
sing of His glory
oh, sing my soul, sing.

Sing, oh my soul,
get down on your knees
lift up your voice
oh, sing my soul, sing!

In The Early Hours ~

In The Early Hour ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

In the early hours . . .
before the day is born
while the moon still shines
before it is a new morn.

While the stars still twinkle,
before the daylight dawns
while a chill is still in the air
before dew forms on lawns.

While our minds are calm,
and our hearts are at peace
while our thoughts are warm
and our anxieties have release.

That is when we should rise,
and meet with God in prayer
sending Him our heartfelt praise
and our burdens for Him to bear.

God wants to meet with you,
in the early morning hour
so He can give you strength
and fill you with His power.

In the early hours . . .
before the day is born
look up and praise the Lord
upon the new morn!

Psalm 5:3
King James Version

“My voice shalt thou hear
in the morning,

in the morning will I
direct my prayer

unto thee,
and will look up.”

Renewed Day by Day ~

I would have lost heart,
given up on spiritual things
I would have wasted away
from all the troubles life brings.

I would have passed out,
lost my faith and my hope
I would have lost count
and just thrown in the rope.

I would have sunk under,
the pressure of my fears
I would have called it quits
amidst all of my tears.

I would have been crushed,
under the weight of my load
I would have gotten off
on the narrow traveled road.

I would have lost heart,
if each day I wasn’t renewed
I would have given up Lord . . .
but I kept my eyes on You!

2 Corinthians 4:16-18
King James Version

“Therefore we do not lose heart.
outwardly we are
wasting away,yet inwardly

we are being renewed day by day.
For our
light affliction,
which is but for a moment, is

working for us a far more exceeding
eternal weight of glory,
while we do not look

at the things which are seen,
but at the
things which are not seen.
For the things
which are seen
are temporary,
but the things
which are not seen
are eternal.”

This Too Shall Pass

This too shall pass,
this too will go away
what is a burden at this time
will be a blessing another day.

This too shall pass,
this too will cease and end
what looks to be broken down
will soon be on the mend.

This too shall pass,
this too will be revealed
what you don’t understand right now
will not always be concealed.

This too shall pass,
this too will come about
what carries so much uncertainty
will not always cause such doubt.

This too shall pass,
this too will come to light
what appears to be dim and dark
will soon turn clear and bright.

This too shall pass,
this too will become known to you
what looks impossible for today
will not always be hard to do.

This too shall pass,
this too will go away
what you can’t discern for now
will become clearer as you pray.

My Anchor ~

I thought I could sail,
and coast along the way
until I got caught
in a storm the other day.

I wasn’t really ready,
for the tempest ahead of me
for these once calm waters
were becoming an angry sea.

As the wind began to blow,
it threw me off my chair
when it started to howl
it gave me quite a scare.

But, I held on to the wheel,
aimed for the shore
I stepped on the gas
with the pedal to the floor.

As the sea began to churn,
I saw I wasn’t going anywhere
so I threw in my anchor
knowing I had to prepare.

I clung onto my faith,
prayed with all my might
I hung onto every promise
He’d guide me in His light.

As the waves tossed and turned,
I gathered up my trust
quoted from the Scriptures
with each and every thrust.

When the storm was finally over,
and I was safely at the dock
I was glad that I set my anchor
to the One I call my Rock!

King James Version

anchor of the soul,
 both sure and stedfast:”

I Too Can Cross My Jordan

I too can see the holy pillar,
at the edge of my wilderness
I too can see the light
and I pursue it with eagerness.

I too can see the mighty cloud,
as it goes out before me
I too can see the fire
and I will follow it to the sea.

I too can cross my Jordan,
and make it to the other side
I too can pass through
with confidence in my stride.

I too can see the Lord,
a witness to His divine guidance
I too can hear the Lord
and know my fears He will silence.

I too can reach the promise land,
as I learn to trust God with my life
I too can find His blessed provisions
to overcome the state of my strife!

way; and by night in a pillar of fire,
to give light; to go by day and night.”

Salvation’s Balm ~

He takes the broken strings,
wrapped around our heart
binds them with His love
and offers us a new start.

He knows our inward pain,
He sees our troubled mind
and offers the repented one
a new life in Him to find.

He takes our dishonor,
and the injury we’ve done
then He washes us anew
in the blood of His Son.

He offers consolation,
remembers our sins no more
heals us from our wounds
then opens pardon’s door.

He reconciles us to Him,
fills our hearts with clam
He soothes our disgrace
with salvation’s balm!

and binds up their wounds.”

Oh, Little Lamb

Oh, little lamb run to Him,
He will gather you in His arms
He will cradle you in His strength
protect you from all that harms.

You may be strong in your faith,
you may have wandered far . . .
oh, little lamb don’t you see
God loves you ~ no matter who you are.

He sees the fearful, fainting ones,
He yearns toward the meek and contrite
oh, little lamb don’t you see
just how precious you are ~ in His sight.

He renews and restores strength,
He tenderly cares for all of His sheep
oh, little lamb don’t you see,
He sees every tear ~ that you weep.

He loves the first and the last,
all His sheep ~ He does cherish
Oh, little lamb don’t you see
He wishes not one ~ should perish.

Oh, little lamb run to Him,
He will keep you safe and warm
come little one, and join in the circle
and embrace His everlasting arm!

Singing My Praise ~

Sometimes I want to stand,
on the highest hill . . .
raise my hands to the Lord
so I can tell Him how I feel.

I want to shout out my love,
hear His echo back at me
I want to close my eyes tight
until His face is all I see.

Sometimes I want to be alone,
on the tallest mountain top
sing my praises to the Lord
never wishing for them to stop.

I want to show my gratefulness,
with a standing ovation
I want to shout out my thanks
so He’ll know my appreciation.

Sometimes I want to stand,
and soak in His peace . . .
I want to raise my hands upwards
and my praise just release!

O God, my heart is fixed

I will sing and give praise.”

What is Faith ~

Faith is what we hope in,
it’s what we cannot see
it’s when we trust Jesus
to calm the storms at sea.

It’s a touch of His hem,
it’s knowing He will heal
it’s confident and it’s sure
God promises He’ll fulfill.

It’s firm and unquestioning,
it’s strong and never weak
it’s alive and it dwells
in the hearts that are meek.

It’s believing that God can,
it’s knowing that He will
it’s trusting in His timing
that keeps the heart still.

It’s willing to die to self,
it’s believing in God’s Word
it’s willing to pay the price
for the truth that its heard.

Faith is what we hope in,
it’s beyond what the eye sees
it’s the trust we have in Jesus
and it takes us to our knees.

King James Version

we have
peace with God

Dear ~ Fainthearted One

Oh, dear fainthearted one,
does life have you down?
Has depression robbed your smile,
and given you its hopeless frown?

Do worry lines map your face,
are your eyes filled with fear?
Do you embrace your melancholy,
and hold anxiousness near and dear?

Has your doubt caught up with you,
has it stolen your peace of mind?
Does confusion torment your soul,
making tranquility hard to find?

Has your devotion bottomed out,
is your hope in things that won’t last?
Has your faithfulness withered away,
do you still hold on to your gloomy past?

Oh, dear fainthearted one,
don’t you stop trusting or believing
give God all that makes your faith weak
and His strength you’ll start receiving!

King James Version

For Every Beginning

For every beginning,
there must be an end
just like a rainbow
must  have a bend.

But, He who has begun,
a good work in you
will be there to help
and see you through.

For what He begins,
will not  fade away
what He has started
He’ll complete one day.

His love set in motion,
is constant and true
He’ll never cease
taking care of  you.

His comfort is steady,
to soothe and to ease
He is always  eager
to satisfy and to please.

His hope is ceaseless,
forever it  goes on
just like a new day
must have a dawn.

His faithfulness persists,
no matter the season
He’ll always forgive you
no matter the  reason.

His gentle, kind mercies,
are eternally bound
forever they  will comfort
they are yours to be found.

His truth sets us  free,
from Satan’s deception
and He’ll liberate us all
on the Day of  Redemption.

For those who endure,
will be saved to the end
and  you’ll find in Jesus
you’ll have no better a friend.

So, give your  life to Jesus,
and you’ll find perfect rest
just like the sun
must  set in the west . . .

that he which hath begun a good work
in you will perform it until the day of

The Peace of God ~

Everyday becomes a struggle,
when from God’s Word we stray
every hour is more miserable
when we don’t believe and pray.

Everything looks impossible,
when His hope is not there
every problem looks bleaker
when we don’t trust in His care.

Every worry seems unbearable,
when His mercy we don’t claim
every concern is more insufferable
when we don’t call upon His name.

Every mountain seems higher,
when we climb it all alone
every valley is a little deeper
when we don’t seek His throne.

Everyone who goes about,
seeking to do their own will
will never know the peace
that only God can instill!

King James Version

the Lord will bless his people with peace.”
