You’re Not Alone ~

You’re not alone,
Jesus is with you always
no matter your load
He’ll show you His ways.

The storms they will calm,
if Jesus you anchor to
for He has promised
He’ll never leave you.

Be of good courage,
forsaken you’ll not be
when enduring trials
know Jesus is with thee.

Do not let your doubt,
take away His peace
the winds now blowing
He’ll soon cause to cease.

You’re not alone,
Jesus is right there
and He wants from you
your every care!

I will never leave thee,

nor forsake thee.”

Be Perfect . . .

Make perfection your goal,
make it your heart’s desire
do all that you know
our heavenly Father requires.

Be faithful and true,
press towards holiness
let His grace show you
how to live with lowliness.

Be followers of God,
for you are His dear child
submit to all of His ways
being truly humble and mild.

Be imitators of your Father,
show compassion and love
even to those who hate you
let your peace be like a dove.

Be perfect,
strive and make this your goal
seek and you shall find
His perfection for your soul.

Matthew 5:48
King James Version

“ Be ye therefore perfect,
even as your Father
which is in heaven is perfect.”

A Cup of Kindness ~

Offer a cup of kindness,
to someone hurting today
offer them a sip of grace
tell them things will be okay.

Offer a cup of compassion,
to someone who needs a lift
offer them a sip of love
share with them your gift.

Offer a cup of gentleness,
to someone who is down
offer them a sip of mercy
it will take away their frown.

Offer a cup of helpfulness,
to someone who lives alone
offer them a sip of hope
show them your eternal home

Offer a cup of forgiveness,
to those who have hurt you
offer them a sip of peace
you’ll please God if you do.

Offer a cup of kindness,
to someone you meet today
offer them a sip of joy
it’s yours to give away!

Galatians 5:22-23
King James Version

love, joy, peace,
gentleness, goodness, faith,

meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.”

Rejoice, Rejoice In the Lord

Rejoice, rejoice in the Lord,
be glad and shout out with joy
for He promises to uplift you
and your doubts He’ll destroy.

For those who trust in the Lord,
are covered by His mercies
all those who believe in Him
shall conquer their adversities.

Rejoice all who love the Lord,
with delight offer Him your praise
He will shield and protect you
and your fears He will raise.

Stand up against the wicked one,
don’t you believe in his lies
all who affirm the work of the Lord
will be blessed with a heart that is wise.

Rejoice in His wonder and glory,
let His splendor embrace you
rejoice and be glad in the Lord
and His love will encircle you too.

For those who rejoice in the Lord,
and give Him their praise each day
are the ones who always trust Him
with His answers when they pray.

Rejoice, rejoice in the Lord,
again I say rejoice . . .
always lift Him up in praise
and let Him hear your voice.

Philippians 4:4
King James Version

“Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again
I say, Rejoice.”

Run to Jesus

When your world crashes down,
and you want to go far, far away
run to Jesus and His loving arms
for He’ll protect you without delay.

When everything is going wrong,
and your future isn’t looking bright
run to Jesus for your strength
and find the power of His light.

When your worries make you ill,
and you’re weary from life’s cares
run to Jesus for your hope
for His love is always there.

When your tears fall like acid rain,
and your heart breaks apart
run to Jesus for your comfort
and His peace He will impart.

When you think you can’t go on,
yet another single day . . .
run, run quickly to Jesus
and let Him show you the way!

Psalm 69:16
King James Version

“Hear me, O Lord; for thy lovingkindness is
good: turn unto me according to the multitude
of thy tender mercies.”

Until The End . . .

Sometimes I feel so lonely . . .
as if I have not a friend
someone who will be there
and see me to the end.

But, then I look upward,
and thank God that He is there
knowing that no matter what
I will always be in His care.

I can cry upon His shoulder,
and tell Him what hurts me
I know that He understands
and will set my pain free.

I know that He loves me,
as long as to Him I stay true
and whenever I call upon Him
He will show me what to do.

Sometimes I feel so lonely . . .
but Jesus is my eternal friend
and He promises to be there
until the very end!

John 15:15
King James Version

“Henceforth I call you not servants; for the
servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but
I have called you friends; for all things that I
have heard of my Father I have made known
unto you.”

Is That You Lord?

Is that you Lord,
is that You, I felt just now?
Is that You, who touched my heart,
and brushed upon my brow?

Is that You Lord,
is that You, I heard softly say?
Is that You, who whispered to me,
You’ll get me through this day?

Is that You Lord,
is that You, I seem to sense?
Is that You, who left the impression,
that made me feel less tense?

Is that You Lord,
is that You, stirring up in me?
Is that You, who gave me inspiration,
to trust in what I cannot see?

Is that You Lord,
is that You, I believe is near?
It must be You, who embraced me,
for no one else is here!

and the love of God, and the communion
of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”

Grateful . . .

How often do I put the blame on Thee,
instead of looking at the sin in me?
I sometimes wonder ~ if You are there,
but instead it is me  who doesn’t care.

My narrow mind and blinded eye,
can only fault and ask You why.
Then in my selfish, sinful pride,
I run away from You and try to hide.

But You find me no matter what,
and You know the churning in my gut.
You chase me in my wrongful flight,
to prove You’re just and always right.

Your loving arms wrap around me,
to console and try to make me see.
From You I never have to run away,
that You won’t let me go astray.

Oh, how grateful now that I know,
You would never, ever let me go.
Thank You Lord for staying near,
and for Your peace ~ not my fear.

O GOD the Lord; In You I take refuge;
Do not leave my soul destitute.”

As Is . . .

A little bit worn,
frayed and ripped
a little bit old
chipped and nicked.

A little bit used,
aged and weathered
a little bit scratched
scored and feathered.

A little bit marked,
scuffed and grazed
a little bit confused
puzzled and dazed.

A little bit broken,
cracked and chipped
a little bit sheared
pruned and clipped.

But Jesus loves me,
just “As Is”
and I am thankful
I am all ~ His!

Psalm 143:5
King James Version

“I remember the days of old;
I meditate on all thy works;
I muse on the work of thy hands.”

I am A Work In Progress ~

I am a work in progress,
you probably are one too
each day Jesus is working
in us something new.

His grace is forming us to be,
His warriors and His saints
He is shaping us to live
with principles and restraints.

He is molding our hearts,
to live sober and clean
so the likeness of Him
in our souls we can glean.

He knows all the lumps,
that need to be reformed
He is shaping us daily
till in Him, we’re transformed.

We have unlimited potential,
He’ll never be finished with us
but you and I must believe . . .
His remolding is always just.

I am a work in progress,
you probably too ~ are one
every day God is shaping us
into the image of His Son!

why did you pick on me
what was it that you saw
that no one else could see?

sticks and stones cast
did you not realize
how long the pain would last?

names, but not my God-given
they were the ones
that made me hate livin’.

words so very cruel
why did you think
I was made to be your fool?

what did I ever do . . .
what did I ever say . . .
to bring the bully out in you?

you really did hurt me
but my Lord and Savior
from you, has set me free.

The Pied Piper from Chicago

Now the pied piper of Chicago,
a few years ago picked up his flute.
And played a mesmerizing tune,
that left most people mute.

The tune was very cleaver,
as he piped his way along.
Even the young schoolchildren,
began to sing his song.

He piped about transparency,
in a land he said was full of haze.
And the people trusted him,
for he had them in a daze.

Now the pied piper from Chicago,
used Saul Alinsky as his socialist teacher.
And Rev. White, “God damn America,”
was his Sunday morning preacher!

He studied hard under them,
and copied all that he had heard.
And piped all their lyrics perfectly,
right down to every single word.

On the road to the White House,
he piped and piped and piped.
All his followers adored and loved him,
as their tears for him they wiped.

The flute must have been magical,
for the piper no one really knew.
For some his tune was Marxist old,
but to most it was something new.

His pipe was full of dreams,
of jobs, and homes, and loans.
But after all the stimulus bills,
he still hears the people’s groans.

Some say he is the anti-Christ,
but this I don’t believe.
For when the true one comes,
ALL the people he’ll deceive.

The pied piper from Chicago,
is only just a peek.
Of the one who will be coming,
and this man I do not seek.

Do you hear what I hear,
or are you still deaf and mute?
If not then in November 2012,
give the piper the good old boot!

The Wandering and Lost ~

Wandering Ones ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Father God,
I do pray . . .
for the wandering
and lost today.

They’ve been hurt,
along the way . . .
and from Your path
they’ve gone astray.

Their hearts are broken,
their pain is for real
they’ve lost their joy
from the ache they feel.

They no longer see,
Your truth or light
the road for them
is as dark as night.

Their trust in You,
just plain ran out
and instead of faith
they live with doubt.

Father God,
I do pray . . .
You’ll bring back
all who stray!

hath torn,

he hath

Until He Will . . . Be Still ~

When waiting on the Lord,
to answer your prayer
don’t become discouraged
instead, rest in His care.

When seeking His response,
for your wants and needs
don’t become depressed
be at peace until He leads.

When God is quiet,
but you heart isn’t so
don’t become worried
instead, let His mercy flow.

When looking for a word,
to help show the way
don’t become disheartened
but, let joy fill your day.

When waiting on the Lord,
needing to know His will
don’t become anxious
instead, trust and be still!

A Brighter Day

I hear the cry,
within your heart
sobs telling me from God
you feel far apart.

I see the river of tears,
the mountain of your pain
and you keep wondering
how long they will sustain.

I listen to your words,
they are filled with fear
and the anguish you feel
keeps doubt achingly near.

I know you are hurting,
you think you’ve lost the way
but I can assure you
there will come a brighter day.

For God never disappoints,
I know He will come through
for Jesus has promised
to never leave you . . .

My Days Are The Lords

Lord, You know my days,
the number of my years
You know the exact time
that my life will be here.

I pray I will use it wisely,
giving honor to Your name
I ask that You will help me
not to bring You any shame.

Lord, You have given me,
this place for me to dwell
You’ve given me a chance
to choose heaven over hell.

I pray I’ll be a good steward,
in the seasons allotted me
I ask for Your guidance
so in eternity, we can be.

Lord, You understand me,
and know my every side
You’ve given me Your light
to be my constant guide.

I pray I will not falter,
on the narrowest of ways
I ask that You will lead me
all my nights and all my days.

Lord, let me not stray,
from You while I am here
for You are my Shepherd
who I trust with all my years.

Autumn Blessings ~

Autumn Blessings ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Autumn brings to the soul relief,
as hot Summer days, slip to an end
God sent the season for weary hearts
to restore, repair and mend.

Unlike the Autumn trees,
that shed their changing leaves
God sent the season for failing hearts
to adhere, embrace and cleave.

Just as with the Autumn winds,
there comes a new refreshing rain
God sent the season for fraying hearts
to increase, grow and gain.

The Autumn sun is slow to climb,
and dips much earlier into the night
God sent the season for sleepy hearts
to rise, shine and awake in His light.

God gave to us the Autumn season,
so we could have a respite and rest
for it is the season for our beset souls
to see how much we are blessed!

Psalm 16:9
King James Version

“Therefore my heart is glad,
and my glory rejoiceth:

my flesh also shall rest
in hope.”

More of You Lord ~

More of You Lord, more of You,
in all the things I say and do
less of me Lord, less of me
so more like You I can be.

Lord, I give You all my doubts,
with them You can have my fear
take from me my wariness
move me close and draw me near.

More of You Lord, more of You,
oh Dear Jesus, can’t You see
I want to die to me and live for You,
I need more of You and less of me

Lord, I will give You all my love,
please take my heart, it’s Yours too
I need You to be my soul’s reflection
please take my life and make it new.

More of Your will and less of mine,
help me to be to myself blind
show Your way and give me direction
lead me in the truth, till You I find.

I need more of You Lord, more of You,
in all the things I say and do
I need less of me Lord, less of me
so more of You I will forever be!

and to die is gain.”

Repent ~

The words I write,
I do believe . . .
and it’s my prayer
that you will receive.

The message Jesus,
wants me to tell
determines if you’ll go
to heaven or hell.

Now for some,
this may seem stern
but, God wants me
to share my concern.

Repent right now,
of your sin . . .
and in your heart
invite Jesus in.

Get on your knees,
ask for forgiveness
let the Holy Spirit
to you be a witness.

Lift up your hands,
praise your Lord
walk in His ways
then sin no more!

ye shall all likewise perish.”

Perfection ~

Perfection ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Give me the cross,
and its perfection
give me Jesus
as my direction.

Give me the hope,
of the Lamb
give me the strength
of I AM.

Give me the joy,
that is eternal
give me the peace
that is internal.

Give me the trust,
of being forgiven
give me a life
Holy Spirit driven.

Give me the cross,
and its assurance
give me faith
and its endurance!

bodies washed with pure water.”

Yielding Hearts ~

Yielding Hearts ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God loves the little sparrows,
all the flowers in the fields
He loves a repentant heart
that to Him finally yields.

He loves the morning hour,
when the sun is on its rise
He loves a searching heart
that is seeking to be wise.

God loves the daily warmth,
the cool breeze in the air
He loves when a burdened heart
gives to Him all its care.

God loves the evening time,
when the sun slowly sets
He loves when a hungry heart
appetites in Him are whet.

God loves the moon shinning,
all the twinkling in the sky
He loves a prayerful heart
when to Him it starts to cry.

God loves His little sparrows,
His faithful lilies of the field
He loves it be it day or night . . .
when our hearts to Him we yield!

Romans 6:13
King James Version

“But yield yourselves unto God, as those that
are alive from the dead, and your members
as instruments of righteousness unto God.”

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus ~

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Fix your eyes on Jesus,
never let Him out of your sight
focus in on all of the goodness
that radiates from His Light.

Fasten your mind to Jesus,
in His Word find your peace
join together with Him
in a love, that’ll never cease.

Attach your heart to Jesus,
cling and cleave to His life
secure yourself in knowing
He will overcome your strife.

Adhere your ears to Jesus,
listen to what He has to say
stick to His commandments
let your heart to Him sway.

Fix your eyes on Jesus,
never let Him out of your sight
focus in on His peace . . .
trusting Him with all your might!

I Love The Lord

I love you Lord,
more than I can say
I love You more
and more each day.

I love Your favor,
the promise of grace
I love it when I seek
Your awesome face.

I love Your mercy,
the compassion I feel
I love Your peace
that keeps me still.

I love Your hope,
where I lay my trust
I love You because
I know You’re just.

I love Your beauty,
in all Your creation
I love that I found
in You my salvation.

I love You Lord,
more than I can say
I love You more
for being the way!

Follow and Go Fish ~

Follow and Go Fish ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Follow and go fish,
for there’s a deep large sea
of people who need
to learn more about Me.

Take My rod of love,
cast it into the deep
gather up for Me
all My wandering sheep.

There are many souls,
needing to hear My Word
go and tell them about
the truth you’ve heard.

Take My reel of grace,
and let out mercies line
bring to Me all of those
who desire to be mine.

You needn’t be a pro,
I can use any one
just go and find Me
souls that can be won.

Follow and go fish,
is all Jesus asks of you
and now it’s up to us . . .
to follow and go do!

King James Version

“And he saith unto them, Follow me,
and I will make you fishers of men.”

At The Foot of The Cross

Once, I was so dreadfully wrenched,
there was nothing good about me
I had falling into that bottomless pit
and made friends with the old enemy.

Satan took me to places I never dreamed of,
and all of his crafty lies I soon believed
he took from me all that I had faith in
and his evil deceptions I gladly received.

Then the Lord began to open up my eyes,
and I saw I was living my life on hell’s rim
so, He took me to the foot of the Cross
and told me to leave all my sins with Him.

As I knelt and confessed before Him,
His crimson blood dripped down on me
and all of the grime from my sinful past
Christ promised to no longer see.

As I rose and moved away from His feet,
I carried not one single burden with me
but I continue to let my past keep me humble
so that at the foot of the Cross – I’ll always be!

Philippians 2:8
King James Version

“And being found in appearance as a man,
He humbled Himself and became obedient
to the point of death, even the death
of the cross.”

While He is Still Near ~

While He is Still Near ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Seek the Lord, while He is still near,
while His mercy can still be found
pray for Him to lead and guide you
while the Holy Spirit is still around.

Give unto the Lord your whole heart,
reconcile with Him while you still can
appeal to Him to restore your faith
while He still hears the prayers of man.

Search for the Lord, while He is nearby,
while His grace is still the only way
study the Word that He has left you
while His light still shines on your day.

Call upon the Lord, while He still listens,
while He still forgives your transgression
inquire that He shows you His will
while He still makes a Godly impression.

Seek the Lord, while He is still close,
for one day soon He won’t be near
pray that you will heed to His calling
lest you live out your worse fear!

while he may be found, call

ye upon him while
he is near:”

Fear Thou Not ~

As the storms of life,
rages on . . .
and your hopes
are all but gone
when your faith
is tossed about
and in its wake
you’re left with doubt.

Find comfort in,
the storm’s center
God’s peace will greet you
as you enter
and you’ll hear His whispers
above the angry sea
“Fear thou not, for I am with thee.”

When in the midst,
of a test or trial
and you find yourself
in complete denial
when your trust
is rocked and shaken
and you’re frighten
once you awaken.

Find comfort in,
the face of tribulation
God’s love will give
you a new revelation
and His whispers
will set you free
“Fear thou not, for I am with thee.”

As you suffer,
in your grief
and you don’t know
when you’ll get relief
as your heart breaks
into little pieces
and your pain each day
only increases.

Find comfort in,
your sorrow
His compassion
will brighten your tomorrow
and through His whispers
you will see . . .
“Fear thou not, for I am with thee.”

King James Version

Fear thou not, For I am with thee:
be not dismayed: for I am thy God.”
