Crucified with Christ

Crucified with Christ,
not my life now ~ but His
earthy desires put aside
not my life now ~ but His.

Crucified with Christ,
this new man to put on
no need for human wealth
old man ~ all but gone.

Crucified with Christ,
an exercise of His grace
an end to self-reliance
His love has won the race.

Crucified with Christ,
sin no longer to control
since faith came to dwell
inside my heart and soul.

Crucified with Christ,
In Him, I am made anew
old things are no more
in Him, all is truly new.

Crucified with Christ,
not my life now ~  but His
alive in flesh and faith
not my life now ~  but His . . .

Galatians 2:20-21
King James Version

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live,
but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in
the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me
and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God;
for if righteousness comes through the law,
then Christ died in vain.”

Oh, What a Wonder ~

Oh ~ what a wonder,
oh ~ what a delight
now I see everything
in Jesus’ glorious light.

Once I saw darkness,
didn’t know the way
now His truth leads me
both night and day.

Oh ~ what a wonder,
oh ~ what a blessed life
now that I follow Jesus
I have so little strife.

Before I was troubled,
tormented on every side
but now the Holy Spirit
is my eternal guide.

Oh ~ what a wonder,
oh ~ what a new song
all of my praises
to the Son, now belong.

Jesus has given me,
a reason to live
and all of my heart
to Him,  I gladly give!

John 8:12
King James Version

” Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I
am the light of the world: he that followeth
me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have
the light of life.”

God Has Great Things For You ~

God Has Great Things For You ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God has plans for you,
a future ~ a hope
He has great things
in His almighty scope.

God has a life for you,
a path ~ a way
He has great designs
before you to lay.

God has a place for you,
a joy ~ a peace
He has great treasures
that will never cease.

God has a use for you,
a purpose ~ an aim
He has great blessings
for you to claim.

But you must let Him,
make your heart His home
and then seek the things
that come from His throne!

Jeremiah 29:13
King James Version

“And ye shall seek me,
and find me,

when ye shall
search for me

with all your heart.”

Only One-Step ~

It only takes one-step . . .
to follow  in His shoes
it only takes one heart
to spread the Good News.

It only takes one word,
to set a soul afire
it only takes one flame
for your faith to inspire.

It only takes one voice,
to make up God’s choir
it only takes one mind
to become a Gospel crier.

It only takes one Christian,
to make a real difference
it only takes one believer
willing to go the distance.

It only takes one-step . . .
planted on the ground
it only takes one heart
to turn a life around!

Ezekiel 22:30
King James Version

“And I sought for a man among them, that
should make up the hedge, and stand in the
gap before me for the land, that I should not
destroy it: but I found none.”

In Satan’s Synagogue

To Hell with the Devil by Jimmy Paragas #5554

In Satan’s synagogue,
sits the Angel of Light
where men worship him
in ceremonies and rites.

They pay to him homage,
and sing his deceitful lies
blasphemy is on their lips
rebellion is in their eyes.

They revere a religion,
that promotes violence
and all their opposition
they promise to silence.

Abaddon, is their teacher,
he presides over them
and his work of darkness
they would never condemn.

He teaches out of hatred,
for the one and only God
and he is putting together
his Armageddon squad.

Soon there will be a battle,
Apollyon will lead the way
and the Angel of Light
will have his bloody day.

Their destruction will be felt,
across the unsuspecting world
and the Antichrist will laugh
as his devastation is unfurled.

But, God will take revenge,
just you wait and see . . .
and I pray that up in heaven
you’ll be watching it with me!

Revelation 2:9
King James Version

“I know thy works, and tribulation, and
poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the
blasphemy of them which say they are Jews,
and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.”

Count it All for Joy ~

Count if All For Joy ~ CHRISTiaan poetry by deborah ann

Count it all for joy,
each trial you go through
give them not a second thought
then watch what God will do.

Count it all for joy,
when tested for your belief
patience will be your reward
and His peace your relief.

Count it all for joy,
as He performs His work you
let His perfection complete
and make you someone new.

Count it all for joy,
lest you be tossed about
seek by faith all your needs
and in God never doubt.

Count it all for joy,
for His wisdom is your gain
ask believing without fear
and in your life He will reign.

Count it all for joy,
no matter your despair
let His love fill you up
and your life He’ll repair!

James 1:2-3
King James Version

“My brethren, count it all joy
when ye fall
into divers temptations;

Knowing this,
that the trying of your faith

 worketh patience.”

May I Not Forget ~

Lord, may I not forget . . .
the favors You have granted me
or how You made a path
across my very own Red Sea.

May my praises for You,
keep me humble all my days
may I remember to follow
and to walk in all Your ways.

Lord, may I not complain,
nor forget Your mighty deeds
may I always remember
it’s You who supplies my needs.

May my heart stay pure,
so that my soul You will win
may it hold not one single idol
nor have an appetite for sin.

May my praise rise each day,
and lay upon my lips at night
may I not forget Your counsel
nor the pillars of Your saving light.

Lord, may I not forget . . .
the wondrous works of Your hand
nor how You made for me a path
that leads to Your promised land!

Psalm 106:13-14

King James Version

“They soon forgat his works; they waited not
for his counsel: But lusted exceedingly in the
wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.”

God’s Embrace

I felt the arms of God
wrap around me today
while I was on my knees
before I began to pray.

He held me close to Him
as I poured my heart out
I felt His warm embrace
encircle my gripping doubt.

He took me into His arms
and I rested there for a while
until my soul was reassured
He’d see me through this trial.

I felt a gentle squeeze
somewhere deep in my heart
and soon all of my worries
began to vanish and depart.

I’m not sure how long He held me
nor how long in His arms I was there
but when I rose to leave
I had not a worry or a care!

Jeremiah 32:17
King James Version

behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth

by thy great power and stretched out arm,
and there is nothing too hard for thee:”

Whole and Complete

Do you feel whole and complete,
or sense there’s something missing?
Are you aware of an emptiness
and find your mind always drifting?

Do you try to fill that void,
with people, things and places?
Do your achievements and rewards
take up all those empty spaces?

Are you searching for significance,
something that’ll give your life meaning?
Are you looking for heaven on earth
but find that your heart is still bleeding?

Are you carrying a life-long burden,
that keeps you from finding God’s peace?
Are you hauling around your past sin
so your guilt and shame never cease?

Then my friend you must let Jesus,
penetrate into your heart and soul
and the root of your incompleteness
He will reveal . . . and make you whole.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
King James Version

“And the very God of peace sanctify you
wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and
soul and body be preserved blameless unto
the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

I’m Being Tested . . .

I’m being tested . . .
I can see the angry sea
and any moment now
it could crash down on me.

If I doubt ~ I might sink,
but with faith I will swim
all I need to do . . .
is to keep my eyes on Him.

Jesus is on the other side,
of this sea that is raging
and my patience and belief
He’s measuring and gauging.

The waves are coming,
I can sense their future fear
but I know that in any storm
my Savior is always near.

I’ll not drown in these waters,
or be swept into the deep
for Jesus promises to protect
all of His precious little sheep.

I’m being tested . . .
I can see the angry sea
but I will not panic
I’ll let my faith work for me.

James 1:3
King James Version

“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith
worketh patience.”

Just a Touch of His Hem

When I saw Him from a distance,
I ran to follow and go after Him
and I believed all that I needed
was just a touch of His hem.

For years I have been shunned,
and turned away by those around me
so I hid myself in the crowd
and prayed my shame He wouldn’t see.

As He passed me by I reached down,
and took from Him, my cure
for this man that they call Jesus
I knew would heal, if my faith was pure.

He stopped and called me His daughter,
when my belief in Him I revealed
and from that very moment
from my disease I was healed.

He bid to me to go in good comfort,
saying my faith had made me whole
and I believe that when I touched His hem
He imparted His favor onto my very soul.

There is a moral to my story,
never be too ashamed of your illness or sin
for Jesus still cures and heals our weaknesses
if you just let Him touch you – from within!

Matthew 9:20-22

“And, behold, a woman, which was diseased
with an issue of blood twelve years, came
behind him, and touched the hem of his
garment: For she said within herself, If I
may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
But Jesus turned him about, and when he
saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good
comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.
And the woman was made whole from that
hour. “

God’s Waiting Room ~

In God’s waiting room . . .
I sometimes have to stay
at first I don’t understand
the reasons for His delay.

But ~ while I am in there,
it becomes obvious to me
and He shows me why
I have to wait and see.

He wants me to learn,
how to depend just on Him
why my pride and conceit
He has to pare and trim.

He uses this waiting time,
for me to focus on His face
so that I can experience
the full measure of His grace.

He wants my every thought,
to be centered on His peace
though He takes His time
His love for me doesn’t cease.

He wants me to understand,
that waiting has its due season
and soon I will gather
the answers to His reason.

In God’s waiting room . . .
I’ve learned about delay
and now I understand
how to trust Him every day!

Psalm 27:14
King James Version

“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he
shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on
the Lord.”

My Prayer ~ September 11

Incline Your ear O Lord,
raise it to my lips
hear my prayer O Lord,
see how my heart skips.

Rise up to my calling,
quickly hear my prayer
ascend on me with favor
take from me this care.

Show Yourself to me,
do not hide Your face
fill me with Your peace
bathe me in Your grace.

Hear my prayer O Lord,
listen to my endless cries
feel the burden in my soul
see the tears in my eyes.

Incline Your ear O Lord,
this is all I know to pray
hear my prayer O Lord
for those who died today!

In memory of all who died on September 11 2001
and for all who still feel the burden and pain!

Hurry Lord . . .

Hurry Lord, come quickly ~
I so need You now
rush to me, help me
the way, You know how.

Hurry Lord, do not tarry,
my heart is growing faint
rush to me, faster yet
I need Your restraint.

Hurry Lord, make haste,
I am growing weak
rush to me, swiftly still
Your strength, is what I seek.

Hurry Lord, do not dawdle,
my soul really needs You
rush to me, run if You must
for I need, Your wisdom too ~

King James Version

“Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.”

So Many ~

So Many ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

So many wandering sheep,
too many wolves on the roam
so many losing their way
too many not going home.

So many wars and rumors,
too many battles being fought
so many dying for their cause
too many gods being sought.

So many hungry children,
too many having no choice
so many without living water
too many can’t hear His voice.

So many rivers overflowing,
too many caught in the flood
so many winds are raging
too many not washed in His blood.

So many starving victims,
too many parched dry lands
so many hungry for the truth
too many in Satan’s hands.

So many countries being shaken,
too many roof tops caving
so many lives are crumbling
too many souls need saving.

So many pangs of man’s labor,
too many spasms of His tribulation
so many will see the end-times
too many will die without salvation!

2 Samuel 22:3
King James Version

“The God of my rock; in him will I trust:
he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation,
my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour;
thou savest me from violence.”

Salvation is Not for Sale ~

You can’t buy your way into heaven,
salvation is not for sale . . .
on your own merit you can’t get there
if you try you’re only going to fail.

You can’t shop around for grace,
it’s a free gift God gave to all
you can’t pay for His mercy
you got to heed salvation’s call.

You can’t finance deliverance,
it’s only there if you repent
you can’t fund spiritual healing
you need to believe it’s heaven sent.

You can’t pick up the tab to heaven,
Jesus already paid the price . . .
and you must believe His life for you
He had to willingly sacrifice!

Matthew 19:24
King James Version

“And again I say unto you, It is easier for a
camel to go through the eye of a needle,
than for a rich man
to enter into the kingdom of God.”

With Fear and Trembling

Once ~ I use to fear God . . .
and trembled at His holy name
hearing about “Fire and Brimstone”
reminded me of hell’s flame.

I would shiver and I’d shake,
when I heard about His wrath
and I knew that I had better
keep to the narrow path.

I would listen to my preacher,
talk about God’s end-time plan
and how Satan was prepared
to pluck me out ~ from His hand.

But, as the years went by . . .
I no longer heard these words
and when the flame died out
I began to fall ~ backwards.

Going to church became fun,
for God’s love is a wonderful thing
my pastor dwelled on my life-purpose
and all the blessings it would bring.

With all condemnation set aside,
I could focus on what drove me
so I went out into the world
to have me a real good look-see.

Oh, what I saw . . .
lit the fires of hell right back up
and once again, I was full of fear
for I saw what was in Satan’s cup.

It is true we must love others,
but their sin we still must expose
what kind of love would we possess
if we left them to hell’s throes?

So if you are a roving seeker,
you still need to fear God’s wrath
and it would be wise for you to hurry
back onto the straight and narrow path.

Matthew 7:14
King James Version

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”

He’s Coming for Me . . .

I’ve been looking for His glory,
to brighten up my day.
Looking for His mercy,
to guide me along my way.

Looking to catch a rainbow,
a promise from above.
Looking to find myself immersed,
in the power of His love.

Then I stopped for a moment,
and looked into the stormy skies.
Like rain drops on my window,
I knew He heard my cries.

For, He sent to me His assurance,
of a day when I will see.
Jesus in His awesome wonder,
coming on clouds for me.

Today I live for that moment,
and until than I will do my best.
For, I know when He appears,
I will have my peace and rest.

I have seen my rainbow,
and in His promise I do believe.
My days belong to the Lord,
until with Him ~ I leave.

the clouds with great power and glory.”

God’s Love is Like ~

God's Love is Like ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God’s love is like a dewdrop,
that glistens in the sun
glowing in the warmth
from the light of His Son.

It’s a breath of fresh air,
full of the fragrance of spring
filling up the senses
with the beauty that it brings.

It’s as sturdy as an oak,
as solid as a rock
firmly holding onto those
who gather as His flock.

It’s a taste of pure heaven,
a piece of pleasure and delight
to savor in the morning hours
to enjoy throughout the night.

It’s as straight as an arrow,
that knows its intended mark
aiming for those who wander
to have a change of heart.

It’s as boundless as the ocean,
an endless mountain stream
flowing with living waters
that has no ridge or seam.

God’s love is gentle as a Lamb,
so tender and so calm
for it brings comfort to the soul
like the soothing of a balm!

2 Corinthians 13:11
King James Version

“Be of good comfort,
be of one mind, live in peace;
and the God of love and peace
will be with you.”

Faith, Hoped For . . .

At the foot of the cross, I left my burdens
along with my shame and doubt
then I handed over what was left to Jesus
and He turned my life inside out.

Through bitter tears and deep sobbing,
confessions rolled down my cheeks
then He took from me my pride
and taught me to be spiritually meek.

He showed me the meaning of forgiveness
though compassion, mercy and grace
then He shined His light in my heart
and His love you could see on my face.

He opened my eyes to the meaning,
of trusting in something that we can’t see
then He filled me with His hope and joy
and promised one day in heaven will be.

For years, I spent my days wondering,
just what this Lord and Savior was about
ah, but that day I left my burdens with Jesus
He took ~ what was left of my doubt.

King James Version

the evidence of things not seen.”

To Hear His Voice ~

To hear His voice in clarity,
confusion to stop and cease
to rid our life of all anxiety
with the infusion of His peace.

To know His voice of wisdom,
all foolishness put to an end
to intently listen for instruction
on life’s every path and bend.

To know His good counsel,
all bad advice to be banished
to oust the voice of darkness
until every sin has vanished.

To know His voice of rest,
all fear brought to its knees
to drive out the enemy
and watch him as he flees.

To know His voice of truth,
all deception put to bed
to cast out Satan’s trickery
so we can be Spirit lead.

To hear His voice in clarity,
is our Shepherd’s prayer
to rid our lives of anxiety . . .
is to find rest in His care!

John 10:16
King James Version

“And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold:
them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice;
and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.”
