Save the Children ~ Lord

Save the children Lord,
give them a roof over head
a warm place to sleep
rain on them water and bread.

Supply them with clothes,
and a pair of good shoes
Lord, send them someone
who’ll share the Good News.

Provide them with hope,
for a future worth living
put upon all of our hearts
to be generous and giving.

Watch over these babes,
who hunger and thirst
help us to put their needs
upmost and first.

Save the children Lord,
give them a roof over head
Lord, let us who are full
be to them ~ Spirit lead . . .

Matthew 25:35
King James Version

I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a
stranger, and ye took me in:”

The Lost Generation

I am from the lost generation,
there are 949,479,786 in my group
and today I am speaking out for all of us
right here from Heaven’s stoop.

We are the sons and daughters,
who were never even given a chance
and we’re standing here hand-in-hand
spiritually united in our stance.

We will never feel our heart beat,
or hear our first cry at our birth
we will never know our eye color
our height, our weight, our girth.

We’ll never have our first boo-boos,
or get a kiss from our mommies lips
we’ll never get a piggy-back ride from daddy
or get carried around on grandmas hips.

We’ll never see a playground,
or the animals at the zoo
we’ll never splash in the ocean
or hear a cow go moo-moo-moo.

We’ll never learn arithmetic,
or be in a spelling bee
we’ll never play dodge ball
or giggle and laugh with glee.

We’ll never have our first kiss,
or fall in love with our soul mate
we’ll never have to worry about
our jobs, our homes, our fate.

We are from the lost generation,
we could have been moms or dads
but instead we were considered “tissue”
according to the abortionists labs.

But, we want everyone to know,
we are having an everlasting jubilee
for, up here in Heaven . . .
Jesus bounces us on His knee!

Painful Memories ~

For some the battle rages,
deep inside their head
where memories of the past
fill them with fear and dread.

They hold on to the picture,
that paints a horrific view
of what people once did . . .
and what they still can do.

Jesus can fix those images,
locked up in your mind
He has a brighter landscape
for you to come and find.

There you’ll have a new life,
one that holds His peace
and those painful old pictures
will fade away and cease.

He uses forgiveness,
to erase those awful memories
and with His love and grace
you’ll find heaven’s treasuries.

For some the battle rages,
deep inside their head
but Jesus is the light . . .
that’ll take away their dread!

My Shepherd ~

My Shepherd never takes me,
to a land that is unknown
nor to fields that are not green
or to where wild seeds are sown.

My Shepherd never leads me,
without a gentle nudge or prod
for He looks out for my safety
with His loving staff and rod.

My Shepherd never guides me,
through terrain that is too steep
for He knows my limitations
and will protect this little sheep.

My Shepherd never shows me,
the way that will steer me wrong
He will see me through the valley
and help me to be brave and strong.

My Shepherd wants to feed me,
in pastures that are rich and lush
and so my thirsty soul will follow
and to His living waters I will rush!

Psalm 23:1
King James Version

“The Lord is my shepherd;I shall not want.”

Who’s In Control?

Some say their faith is doing just fine,
and that Jesus is in charge of their soul
but, when you look deep into their heart
they are the ones ~ who are in control.

They say Jesus is their all in all . . .
and that He is the Lord of their life
but, when hard times come a calling
their trust in Him ~ is lost in the strife.

They say they pray and study the Word,
and that they stay on the narrow way
but, when you see them out in the world
they don’t act the way ~ that they say.

They say Jesus is the great physician,
and all they need is a touch of His hem
but, when they are spiritually sick or ill
they turn to everything else ~ but Him.

They say He is their refuge and harbor,
and they seek Him for peace and shelter
but, when adversities wind starts to blow
their lives turn into mere ~ helter-skelter.

They say Jesus is their true Shepherd,
and they follow His every steps
but, when you see where they’ve been
they have not followed ~ His concepts.

Some say their faith is doing just fine,
and heaven is their eternal goal . . .
but, when you look deep into their heart
. . . . keep praying for their soul.

Matthew 7:14
King James Version

“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the
way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be
that find it.”

Nana, Why Can’t We See Angels?

“Nana, why can’t we see angels?”
My grandson one day asked me.
“Why if they are here with us . . .
their wings we cannot see?”

I took him by the hand,
and we walked my garden path
and the innocence of his question
gave my heart a happy, little laugh.

I knew I had to give an answer,
that his tender heart could hold
for God gave me my own angel
so his soul ~ I could help to mold.

“Although you can’t see angels,
they’re right here in front of you
and no matter where you go
they surround you in all you do.

They rush to your side,
when you need a friend and helper
and when you get into trouble
they become for you, God’s shelter.

They wrap their arms around you,
when you go to bed each night
they keep your heart close to Jesus
until you see the morning light.

They are given to you by God,
to keep you safe and warm
and it is their duty and obligation
to keep you from Satan’s harm.

All you have to do is to believe,
that angels are for real . . .
and if you always trust in God
in your heart, their wings you will feel.”

Psalm 91:11
King James Version

” For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.”

Shattered . . .

fractured soul
needing, pleading
to be consoled.

cracked vessel
ever trampled on
by the Devil.

mangled lives
always feeling
so deprived.

falling apart
pain, deep pain
in their heart.

shook to the core
looking always looking
for something more.

shattered life
needing to find Jesus
to end their strife.

Jeremiah 2:13
King James Version

“For my people have committed two evils;
they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters,
and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns,
that can hold no water.”

What Happened To the Golden Rule?

Once we were all taught,
to follow the Golden Rule
I remember learning about it
way back in grade school.

It was an important lesson,
that each of us knew
and I understood it more
as I matured and grew.

It was easy to remember,
but harder at times to follow
and for some it became
too much for them to swallow.

Treating everyone else,
as they would like to be treated
sometimes made them feel
as if they were being cheated.

For, not everyone believed,
in turning the other cheek
and an eye for an eye
made them seem too meek.

So, instead ~ revenge,
became the new Golden Rule
and that is why today . . .
people can be so very cruel!

Matthew 7:12
King James Version

” Therefore all things whatsoever ye would
that men should do to you, do ye even so to
them: for this is the law and the prophets.”

In The Corner of My World

Lord, in my corner of the world,
there isn’t much for me to do
so I spend most of my days . . .
basking in my thoughts of You.

Here I can safely dwell,
in the goodness of Your love
I always have the time
to seek things from above.

There are no interruptions,
keeping me from Your Word
I’m able to stay focused
my soul is endlessly stirred.

I have not a television,
nor a phone or computer
in my corner of the world
the Holy Spirit is my only suitor.

When He comes to call,
I invite Him to sit with me
we spend hours together
as it should always be.

I spend my days and nights,
praying to know Your will
I am surrounded by a peace
that only You can fill.

I sing throughout my day,
songs filled with eternal praise
to a God who loves me . . .
to the Son He raised.

Lord, in my corner of the world,
this sadly is not ~ the view
but it’s the one that I desire
so, I can be nearer to You . . .

Joshua 22:5
King James Version

“But take diligent heed to do the
commandment and the law, which Moses the
servant of the Lord charged you, to love
the Lord your God, and to walk in all
his ways, and to keep his commandments,
and to cleave unto him, and to serve him
with all your heart and with all your soul.”

The Keys to Hell . . .

The keys to hell are in His hands,
and the shaking has begun
what man has created for himself
can never be taken back or undone.

God will before too long unleash,
the seven seals upon the world
His wrath will fall from His heaven
and His terror He will unfurl.

The skies above will turn dark,
the moon will look as if blood-red
and every soul alive will be shaken
with undying fear and eternal dread.

His horsemen will march one by one,
each releasing a horror of their own
not one will come upon the earth
without the go ahead from His throne.

Oh, my friend don’t be caught up,
in what this world has to offer
lest one day your soul will end up
paying into Satan’s hellish coffer.

Revelation 1:18
King James Version

“I am he that liveth, and was dead;
and, behold, I am alive for evermore,
Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Knowing God’s Will ~

There is a deep longing,
an ache that I feel
it eats away at my soul
and my peace it steals.

I try to concentrate,
but my mind can’t stay still
for all I want to know Lord
what is Your perfect will.

The desire to know Your ways,
to follow without a thought
creeps into my heart
tying my mind into a knot.

Why, oh why dear Lord,
is it so hard for me to know
the direction and the path
You would have me to go?

I read from the Scriptures
word by word, I devour
till I am consumed
with the Holy Spirit’s power.

Psalm 32:8-9
King James Version

” I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way
which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with
mine eye. Be ye not as the horse, or as the
mule, which have no understanding: whose
mouth must be held in with bit and bridle, lest
they come near unto thee.”

So Few Believers

So few believers anymore . . .
so few who open their heart’s door
to our Savior and our Lord
so many looking for something more.

They hear the Good News, but reject,
the divine power that it represents
instead they opt to ignore the wisdom
and show to God ~ their disrespect.

To them Jesus was a poor carpenter,
and most say He was a “good man”
but they don’t discern or see the truth
of our Lord and Savior’s ~ eternal plan.

They would rather go off and scoff,
rebellious hearts, turning Christ away
for they rather follow the world’s beliefs
then to see the light of grace ~ in its array.

So few believers anymore . . .
so many who still need to hear more
about our Savior and our Lord
so many to lead to His heart’s door.

Isaiah 53:1-3
King James Version

“Who hath believed our report? and to
whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

For he shall grow up before him as a
tender plant, and as a root out of a dry
ground: he hath no form nor comeliness;
and when we shall see him, there is no
beauty that we should desire him.

He is despised and rejected of men;a man
of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from
him; he was despised, and we esteemed
him not.”

Oh, My Little Sparrow ~

Oh, My Little Sparrow ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Oh, My little sparrow,
I have given you My peace
and unto eternity . . .
it will not end or cease.

I have empowered you,
with My eternal grace
but it is up to you . . .
to seek My faithful face.

Oh, My little sparrow,
I’ll always love you so
and unto eternity
I will never let you go.

I’ve given you freedom,
to go off anywhere
but it is up to you . . .
to come to Me in prayer.

Oh, My little sparrow,
I have given you My calm
and unto eternity
I will hold you in My palm.

But you must fly,
on your own faithful wings
for you aren’t My puppet
I hold not to your strings!

Stuck in the Muck!

Ok, so you’ve blown it,
you’ve gotten yourself into some muck
and the reality of it all . . .
has finally hit home and stuck.

I bet you’re wishing you could go back,
and do things a whole lot differently
but because you know you can’t
you find yourself with a spiritual disability.

Now you just want to make amends,
so you’re gonna try everything you know
but all that muck that you got yourself in
just continues to grow and flow.

By now you’re running out of options,
there’s not much more that you can do . . .
all of the muck that you have created
is starting to rise up and over you.

Ok, so you’ve blown it,
you’ve gotten yourself into some muck
and the reality of it all . . .
is only Jesus can get you unstuck!

Psalm 69:1-2
King James Version

unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where
there is no standing: I am come into deep
waters, where the floods overflow me.”

As For Me ~

As For Me ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

As for me, I trust in the Lord,
to give or keep from me . . .
the answers to my every prayer
as He thinks they should be.

Who’s to quarrel with the One,
who understands my every need
is He not the One who commands
that it is I,  who must heed?

I know not why He favors me,
with the privileges of His mercy
nor why His blessings fall like rain
on an undeserving  soul like me.

Through the frost of an icy soul,
He thawed the inner core . . .
to a tragic death He surrendered
to show me He loved me more.

As for me, I trust in the Lord,
to give or keep from me . . .
all He has planned for my life
until such time with Him  I’ll be.

Psalm 26:11
King James Version

“But as for me,
I will walk in mine integrity:
redeem me, and be merciful unto me.”

Everyday Struggles ~

Everyday Struggles ~ CHRISTian poetry by deboorah ann

Everyday becomes a struggle,
when from God’s Word we stray
every hour is more miserable
when we don’t trust and  pray.

Everything looks impossible,
when His hope is not there
every problem looks bleaker
when we don’t believe He cares.

Every worry seems unbearable,
when His mercy we don’t claim
every care is more insufferable
when we don’t call upon His name.

Every mountain seems higher,
when we climb it all alone
every valley is a little deeper
when we wander off on our own.

Everyone who goes about,
doing whatever it is they will . . .
will never know the kind of peace
that only God can instill!

Psalm 46:1
King James Version

“God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.”

The Great Deceiver ~

When darkness falls upon you,
and depression steps on in
when gloominess fills your mind
and the True Light begins to dim.

When your faith starts to crack,
under the pressures of self-doubt
and you notice you have begun
to shut the Good Word out.

When your burdens are piled up,
and they seem to be a mile high
when you start to question God
and you begin to ask Him why.

That’s when you need to trust Him,
like you have never done before
and you must not let the enemy
enter into your heart’s door.

For, Satan is the great deceiver,
he’s behind every fatal thought
and he will not be satisfied
until his every lie is bought!

for we are not ignorant of his devices.”

I Hunger ~ I Thirst

I hunger for the truth,
like a bear I search all day
for God’s righteous provisions
to uphold me along my way.

I get down on my knees,
and seek to find His face
I ask Him to sustain me
in the bounty of His grace.

I desire to know His will,
to be sated in His love
to be filled with the goodness
that comes from up above.

I thirst for His wisdom,
like a deer I pant all day
for Him to restore my soul
and renew me along my way.

I get into my prayer closet,
and pray that He will bless
I ask Him to refresh my heart
and His image, on me impress.

I hunger for the truth,
and after wisdom I do thirst
I pray that He will overfill me
with His mercy until I burst!

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst
for righteousness, For they shall be filled.”

When Other’s Won’t Forgive

When other’s won’t forgive,
when they hold the past over you
when they say it’s all your fault
and you’re the blame for what they do.

When forgiveness isn’t in their heart,
when they’ve turned away from you
when they won’t let you forget your sins
and your guilt, they hotly pursue.

When saying you’re sorry isn’t enough,
when they’ve sentenced you to a living hell
when they continue to put you down
and instead of talking, they scream and yell.

That’s when you need to turn to Jesus,
and cling to the promise of the Cross
for Jesus understands your imperfection
and will not consider you  like  dross.

There you will find forgiveness,
not the memories of the sins of your past
there you’ll find tender-hearted compassion
that to eternity . . . will last.

Daniel 9:9
King James Version

“To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses,
though we have rebelled against him;”

I Will Carry You ~

When you’re feeling over burdened,
and the answers are far and few
when your troubles cause you to fall
I will carry you.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed,
and you don’t know what to do
when your worries cause you to drop
I will carry you.

When you’re tired and oppressed,
and you’re weary of the world view
when your dreams cause you to weep
I will carry you.

When you’re beaten up and broken,
and you have no one else to turn to
when your pain cause you to give away
I will carry you.

When you’re life becomes unraveled,
and everything seems to be askew.
when your cares cause you to break down,
I will carry you.

When you’re path becomes uncertain,
and yet, yesterday the way you knew
when your journey comes to an end
it’s because ~ I carried you!

all ye that labour and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.”

If the Lord Should Tarry

If the Lord should tarry,
and I have to wait another day
I will endure what life brings me
as I continue to believe and pray.

If I have to remain,
in this earthly body still longer
I will keep my hopes in the Lord
and my faith will become stronger.

If I have to linger,
and my departure takes more time
I will ask  the Lord for patience
and over every obstacle I will climb.

If I have to wait,
until the Lord finally comes for me
I will have the perseverance
to ride out every rough, stormy sea.

If the Lord should tarry,
and I have to wait another day
I will endure what life brings me
but my sights are set on that day!

Hebrews 10:37-38a
King James Version

“For yet a little while,
and he that shall come will come,
and will not tarry.
Now the just shall live by faith:

All That I Need ~

~ CHRISTian poetry by deborahann ~ All You Need is Jesus- IBible Verses

All that I need, God is it,
all that I was, He has seen.
All of the pieces finally fit,
for He is all that I need.

All that I desire, He gives,
all that I want, He has got.
All of my sins, He forgives,
for He is all that I need.

All that I am, He holds,
all that I can be, He knows.
All of my life, He unfolds,
for He is all that I need.

All that I must do, He has done,
all that I can do, is to believe.
All of my hope, is His Son,
for He is all that I need!

I shall not want.”
