Choices ~

Choices ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann ~
Every day we make choices,
what to eat, to wear, to do
everyday there are options
God places in front of you.

Every day there are decisions,
influencing our daily life
some will bring endless joy
others only eternal strife.

Every day we must decide,
the things to us that matter
some make our faith stronger
others causes it to scatter.

Every day we can pick out,
which path or road to take
some are straight and narrow
others lead to the wide gate.

Every day we need to select,
where to lay up our treasure
each new day we need to fix on
what will bring God pleasure.

Every day we make choices,
some we win, some we lose
every day there are options
will it be Jesus, whom we choose?

~~~~~~~~~~
Matthew 7:13
“Enter ye in at the strait gate:
for wide is the
gate, and broad is the way,
that leadeth to destruction
 and many there be
which go in
there at:”
To Be That Eagle ~
I wish I were that eagle,
that knows how to soar
who waits so patiently
to rise up with the Lord.
Then I would discover,
how to spread my wings
in His power I could . . .
conquer what life brings.
I would have the wisdom,
to be able to discern . . .
how to fly over the clouds
not to faint in my concern.
Then I’d have His strength,
be fit for any flight . . .
for I would trust the Lord
put my faith in His might.
But, for now I’m His sparrow,
He’s teaching me to fly . . .
soon I’ll mount up like and eagle
and I will soar ~ forever high.
~~~~~~~~~

Isaiah 40:31

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew
their strength; they shall mount up with wings
as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.”

Thru The Window of My Soul ~

Thru the window of my soul,
God looks inside and sees
the wickedness of my heart
and it takes me to my knees.

I fall upon the ground,
weeping from my disgrace
from His searching eyes
I try to hide my face.

Though I have repented,
confessed to Jesus all my sin
I can’t help but feel the pain
I’ve caused Him deep within.

I lift myself back up,
my soul is still downcast
but I know He’s forgiven me
from the sins of my past.

Thru the window of my soul,
God sees my sins no more
for, He has cast them all out
so my heart He could restore!

~~~~~~~~~
Isaiah 38:17
“Behold, for peace I had great bitterness:
but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it
from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast
all my sins behind thy back.”
Change Me Lord ~
Change Me Lord ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Change me Lord,
I know that I should be . . .
a different kind of person
than the one that I call me.
Change me Lord,
there’s so much You can do
take this old life of mine
and make me someone new.
Change me Lord,
from the inside out . . .
to trust in only You
without fear or doubt.
Change me Lord,
make my heart grow true
help me to see the sin
in the things I say and do.
Change me Lord,
show me what I do wrong
take away my weakness
make me someone strong.
Change me Lord,
till I see You’re all I need
to live my life just like You
in my every act and deed.
~~~~~~~~

Matthew 9:16
King James Version

“No man putteth a piece of new cloth
unto an old garment, for that which is
put in to fill it up taketh from the garment,
and the rent is made worse.”

If God Can Use Me ~

If God can use me . . .
through my own hurts and pain
to help just one ~ to see His light
then my affliction, will not be in vain.

If He can use me . . .
through my own sorrows and grief
to help just one ~ to believe in Him
then my distress, will bring me relief.

If He can use me . . .
through my own doubts and fear
to help just one ~ to trust in Him
then my anxiety, will bring me cheer.

If He can use me . . .
through my own burdens and worry
to help just one ~ to see His grace
then in my suffering, I won’t be sorry!

If God can use me,
through my own sins and fault
to help just one ~ to repent
then my life, to Him I will exalt.

~~~~~~~~~
2 Corinthians 12:9
King James Version
“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient
for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather
glory in my infirmities, that the power of
Christ may rest upon me.”
When You Pray ~
When you pray draw near to God,
and ask to know His will
give Him your praise and adoration
and believe your request He’ll fulfill
When you pray come to your Father,
confess and repent of your sin
then trust Him with all your heart
and His Spirit will dwell within.
When you pray call upon your Lord,
stand on the authority of His name
have faith in all of your petitions
and be sure His strength you claim.
When you pray go to the throne,
boldly ask, seek and knock
you’ll never find His door closed
it is always open to His flock.
When you pray draw near to God,
then agree, watch and obey
He wants you to persevere
until His answers come your way!
~~~~~~~~

Matthew 6:6
King James Version

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet,
and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father
which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth
in secret shall reward thee openly.

Be His Light ~

In a world full of darkness,
shine His light . . .
in these times of uncertainty
be His light.

In the lives of those lost,
be the light . . .
in the souls that are dying
be the light.

In the hearts that are hurting,
be the light . . .
in the minds that are unraveling
be the light.

In those who are unsure,
be the light . . .
in the one who is wandering
be the light.

In a world that is perverse,
shine His light
in an earth that is corrupt
be His Light!

~~~~~~~
Philippians 2:15
King James Version
” That ye may be blameless and harmless, the
sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a
crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye
shine as lights in the world;”
The World Hates Jesus ~
The world hates Jesus . . .
it has for centuries
evilness is at work in it
employing sins accessories.
Sin has its own nature,
rebellion is at the heart
each person is born with it
right from the very start.
The people of this world,
love darkness over light
they would rather transgress
then to win moralities fight.
They prefer the bad things,
over the godly ones
for God’s righteousness
the world defiantly shuns.
They practice doing evil,
every day they take Satan’s bait
for they are just too proud
to see their own fallen state.
The world hates Jesus . . .
they don’t believe in God above
and the only crime that He did
was to show the world love!
~~~~~~~~~

John 3:19-20

King James Version

“And this is the condemnation, that light is
come into the world, and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their deeds were
evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the
light, neither cometh to the light, lest his
deeds should be reproved.”

A Sound Defeat ~

The battle with the enemy
will be easy to beat . . .
if you put your trust in God
He will deliver a sound defeat.

But, first you must go to Him,
and give Him your fight
then He will lead you onward
in His power, with His might.

As your battle continues on,
He’ll be your strength and Rock
protecting your front and back
until the enemy starts to balk.

He will provide for you a refuge,
a fortress and a safe place
He will defend and deliver you
put a hedge around your base.

The battle with the enemy,
will be easier to beat . . .
if you let your Lord and Savior
lead you to a sound defeat!

~~~~~~~~
2 Samuel 22:2-3
King James Version
“And he said, The Lord is my rock,
and my
fortress, and my deliverer;
The God of my rock; in him will I trust:
he is my shield,
the horn
of my salvation, my high tower,
and my refuge, my saviour;
thou savest me from
violence.”
Thirsty Souls ~
The soul thirsts,
after rivers deep
pant like gasps
from inside seep.
Murmurs heard,
from parched lips
needing more
more ~ than tiny sips.
Living waters,
or living hell
flowing streams
or dried up old well.
The arid soul,
is keen and eager
for its full share
not what is meager.
Spring of hope,
scorched creek bed
the thirsty soul needs
the Fountainhead.
Bitter waters,
God will soon heal
water of life flows
from Calvary Hill.
The soul thirsts
after rivers deep
but only God . . .
makes them seep!
~~~~~~

Exodus 17:3

“And the people thirsted there for water; and
the people murmured against Moses, and
said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought
us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children
and our cattle with thirst?”

Trusting The Lord ~

Trusting the Lord,
with each new day
knowing He’ll show me
His perfect way.

Praying for wisdom,
guidance too
knowing He’ll show me
what I should do.

Waiting for answers,
to my requests
knowing He’ll show me
when the time is best.

Holding on to hope,
embracing His love
knowing He’ll show me
what He is made of.

Trusting the Lord,
with all of my soul
knowing He’ll show me
He’s the one in control!

Psalm 9:10
King James Version

“And they that know thy name
will put their trust in thee:
for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken
them that seek thee.”

Wandering Wanderers ~

Wandering Wanderers ~CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Wandering wanderers,
roaming around
looking and searching
for what can’t be found.

Rootless and fruitless,
wanderers they are
useless and careless
in their travels afar.

Roving and drifting,
wanderers they be
looking and looking
but they can’t see.

Nomadic problematic,
wanders go off
leaving and parting
going off to scoff.

Wandering wanderers,
God wants you home
He wants your steps
to no longer roam.

Return returners,
Oh, thou to Me
come back and revisit
My love for thee.

Arrive and survive,
Oh, thou my roving rover
I will forgive your heart,
over and over!

~~~~~~~
Deuteronomy 27:18
King James Version
“Cursed be he that maketh
the blind to wander out of the way.
And all the people shall say, Amen”
His Little Sparrow ~
His Little Sparrow ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann
Oh My little sparrow,
I have given you wings to fly
I’ve watched as you learned
to make your way across the sky.
There have been many storms,
you have met along the way
I’ve seen you rise above some
others caused your wings to fray.
I’ve seen you soar like an eagle,
as you waited patiently for Me
I’ve seen you spiral downward
into the rough and stormy sea.
I’ve seen you climb new heights,
as you trusted Me in your flight
I’ve seen you start to plummet
when I wasn’t kept in your sight.
I’ve seen you go through the gales,
when My name you called upon
I’ve seen when on your own
you were too weak to continue on.
I’ve been with you the whole time,
I was the gust behind the wind
and sometimes your wings . . .
I have had to clip and trim.
Oh, my little sparrow,
I have given you wings to fly
through the storms of life
so on Me you’d learn to rely!
~~~~~~~~~~

Matthew 10:29

“Are not two sparrows
sold for a farthing? and

one of them shall
not fall on the ground

without your Father.”

My Strength Comes From God ~

My Strength Comes From ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

Lord, my strength isn’t in my bones,
for they are too weak and frail
my strength is in the knowledge
Your Spirit in me will never fail.

My strength does not come,
from anything that I can do
for, I have very little power
if it does not come from You.

My strength cannot be found,
by going to the gym or spa
my strength is when I exercise
to You, my holy awe.

My strength is thin and feeble,
and sometimes I cannot stand
but, when I draw close to You
I feel the power of Your hand.

Lord, my strength doesn’t measure up,
when compared to Your own . . .
my burdens would be too heavy
if I had to carry them alone!

~~~~~~~~
Psalm 18:32
King James Version
“It is God who
arms me with strength,
And makes my way perfect.”
